    Hey folks

I am looking to get a new MBP, preferably the 17inch with 4GB Ram etc etc.

Obviously I don't have 3,300 hanging around so does anyone know what stores I could try for financing? I tried Compub but the application form seems to go nowhere

    Any opinions on Refurbs?

Cos you can sometimes get a decent trade-in offer depending on the machine. Thats always how I trade up anyway.

Sorry, bit distracted by personal abuse from another user atm. Uhmmm ok - I usually trade with either CompuB or At Mac

Don't buy 4GB RAM from Apple!

I've a refurb'd Powerbook thats getting close to 4yrs old. Could not fault that offer at all. runs fine and you get the full warranty and of course you can get the apple care for them too.

And yes, get it without the memory and source it yourself for a lot cheaper.

I purchased a refurbished Macbook Pro from the US Apple Store in November 2006.....approx 30% discount at that time

I am a long time Thinkpad User but I have to say that the Refurb MBP is probably the best built, most reliable machine that I have ever owned....

When I upgrade this machine in 18 months of so, I will buy refurb from Apple again without hesitation.

Great machine, never a problem with it....
