    hi guys
I know a lot of people are into lamping here and I,d like to know if any of you have met this problem before and have a solution
My usual set up for lamping is a handheld lightforce 170 and I find it a great piece of kit but I,ve been doing some solo sessions and decided to get a scope mounted version of the 170.not used it yet but did a few trials tonight when I fitted the mounting bracket.
the light works great but the problem is I,m getting a lot of glare and it,s coming from the t4 mod when I took it off the pic is clear
I know I could just use the set up without the mod but I,d prefer to use it(horses, livestock etc)
    any ideas would be welcome
    thanks

    Raise the Lamp mount.

If the lamp is mounted on your scope, you can buy high seetrue mounts and convert them to mount your lamp on, this will give you the extra hight or black out your filter just leaving about a two inch clear area in the middle of the filter which might stop the glare.

If you still are having problems, contact me (PM) and I will help you build one. What part of the country are you in.

Get a cover for the MOD!!
You can get a T4,T8 cover from magazines or online!!
    Only cost a few pounds/euro.
    Simple but effective.

Bushwear.co.uk do the above mentioned moderator covers, Bush Mufflers I believe they're called.

Other fixes I know of are using a bit of electrical tape, or similiar, on the bottom of your sunshade (should you use one) to block up the bottom 1/2 inch of the hole.

    Or using higher scope mounts.

Pull an old sock over the mod to stop the glare ? Had the same prob with and iron sight on my rifle. Dollop of mud on it used to do the trick until I took it off.

Thanks for the ideas guys,I tried the sock on the mod and also raising lamp but same glare so I had a closer look at set up and found that my scope is mounted very low and line of sight is just a few mm over the mod.did a few trials on raising scope and all I need is to get mounts 3 mm higher and picture is clear.
just as an aside I found when looking at various mounts the terms low,med ,high ,etc seem to mean different things to the manufacturers
eg sako optilock medium is actually higher than some high and even extra high from other makers
something to keep in mind if ordering mounts on the web
