Currently, I have thirty three periods on my timetable and 21.5 hours. Two meetings are included in that, the rest is class contact time. I teach eight classes from first to fifth. :D

Varies - Anything from 25 - 45 on average really. Any free classes would be consumed with paperwork etc.

    Hi leann

    How long are the meetings?

the meetings last for one class period and as trotter says all free time is consumed by paperwork, organising trips, making worksheets, photocopying, correcting, sticking posters on the walls.......

It also depends on the length of class in a school.
Some (like the one I work in) have hour long sessions, some have classes as short as 35 minutes.

Substitutes can't work more than 22 hours a week. 22 hours is a lot and you'll be very tired after it, non-teachers don't understand that.

Agreed! 22 is enough thanks! Lots extra when out of the classroom too!

22 hours officially or 20-22 if over quota at principals discretion, 18 hours if your an assis principal and with tui.

22 hours is full hours, all classes in my school are 40 mins, so i'm on 33 classes a week.

i thought there was no limit to the number of hours a sub could do. they're not on contract.

permanent staff are limited to 49 hours supervision and substitution per year on top of their 22 hours a week. I think for EPTs there is no limit to the number of hours of supervision/substitution they can do.
