The lads over at NutritionX have asked me to let you all know that your favourite supp company is now available online. Their online store went live today.
Any feed back about the site itself, products or prices would be appreciated either post your thoughts up here or mail sales@nutritionx.ie

    www.nutritionx.ie/store

    More competition! :o

    Thanks all!

Site looks class. Very well designed.

Is there much of a difference between pro protein or just the normal whey. I think Nutrition X have the best tasting protein I have tried.

So where is the special offer for the site launch???? To spread the word!!! Jeeeeeez.

They should be capitalising on this free marketing opportunity.

Really nice looking site, although the specials page is empty. Might be a good idea to throw on some ASAP while the new site is hot, and busy.

Well Jon. Ive sent you 2 PM's but no reply. I sent an order there around christmas and could not reply back to your emails with a phone number as I kept getting errors back. I tried the store a few times also.

The order was for creatine and zma.

Sorry to take off topic but I will delete this post when you read it. It seems the only way I might get in contact with you.

    Is that Emmet?
If so, your order which was sent out after my mate spoke to you was returned as there was no one at the said address. I re sent it yesterday free of charge as you were waiting since the site went down. You should get it today all going well.

Oh. I think I gave your mate my phone number?

Anyway, there will be somebody there today should it arrive.

    Thanks very much Jon.

they say they offer a 20% discount if you buy 2 or more products online, was checking it out and it doesn't come up when you go to checkout! If someone knows the lads give them a shout to let them know!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,621 ✭✭✭yomchi

    no probs Emmet.

    I'll pass on the 20% thingy Leon11

Just spoke to one of the lads there, he's been on lurking!
The discounts are applied at the end of the sale, he said he'd make that more clearer and appreciates the feed back!

    Time to update my sig....

    "2 or more products"

Does this mean "2 different products" or "2 of anything". e.g. 2 x big whey?

My thoughts: Site looks decent. Free next day delivery is good (edit: Just spotted that one image says free next day delivery, another days 2 days. Just a heads up). Prices aren't spectacular compared to other online stores.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,621 ✭✭✭yomchi

Hi Khannie, you probably won't get cheaper NutritionX products online than thier store. The price you see is the price you pay, no hidden delivery charge like some other sites.

Can anyone spot any more factors to be considered? its all very helpful to the guys.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 578 ✭✭✭Leon11

If you add say a tub of Ram to your list your given the option of checking out but if you were to look for other products and decide not to buy anything else you've no other way to checkout other than to actually buy add another product to your cart!

Short version, their needs to be a checkout button in the bottom right hand corner of page!

1 tub of Big Whey at nutritionx.ie is €58.50
The same tub at pronutrition.ie is €55

I'm guessing that's to try and get people to buy in bulk with their 20% discount if you buy 2 or more.

Just to explain the price at Pronutrition.ie are not long term. With the crashing of our site since Janury we cut prices for January and February as specials.

In the description of the products it ends mid sentence and you have to click on details to read the rest. It would likely be better if for space reasons they can finish the first sentence then it might be better to have a shorter sentence. Maybe i am picky but i would like to see the prices displayed at this point rather than having to select the item to see how much it is.

I know its a link of there main website but on the store part they dont have an obvious link back to the main website. The about us on the main site is really good so i think it should also be accessible from the store.

    just my 2c btw!

When is someone going to do a nice offer on some whey protein again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,621 ✭✭✭yomchi

Whey proteins have recently gone up in price due to the global market, so it probably won't be as cheap as it used to be for a while. Watch out for interest in whey and casien mixes coming to the for, like Pro Matrix and Slender Pro.

Big whey is cheaper at www.fitness-ireland.com ie 2 tubs for E99 instead of two tubs for E105.30...why is that if its the NutritionX site thats selling it??

    edit
I've just noticed Mass X is over a Euro dearer too..

I noticed this too and it bugged me, but I was waiting to get an answer to my "2 x big whey = 20% discount?" question before making a judgement.

Ordering directly should be cheaper. I'll be ordering more whey soon and I would have just gone with fitness ireland (I got excellent service from them the last time. Everything was delivered to my door about 18 hours after I ordered from them...I know some people on here don't like them, but I have no reason not to.)......

I'm presuming that if Nutrition X can afford to factor in a 20% discount to on-line customers ordering 2 or more products that bulk buyers such as Fitness Ireland, Pronutrition and Irish Lifting can buy them at nearly a 30-35% discount price.

    Example:

    Nutrition X price €100

30% Bulk Discount Price €70 Sell for €95 Profit of €25

Therefore Fitness Ireland can undercut Nutrition X on prices for a single product by up to 30%. Their cost cutting erodes when an on-line 20% discount is applied though.

    20% on-line discount Nutrition X price €80
    Fitness Ireland Price €95

Not 100% sure but in Carlisle I think you can get a Tub of Big Whey for €40.. Not sure if its 5lb tub though.. I'll check this eve or in the morning.

No.Fitness ireland is cheaper even when the discount on two is applied!!

The reason the gyms sell it so cheap is that they mak their profits from gym membership and don't have to worry about profit margins on supps. TBH the supp companies should tell them not to do it as its poxy for the supp trader - ie...me :(

Explain how to me so! According to the individual websites:

Big Whey 6lb 2 for €99 on Fitness Ireland

Big Whey 6lb 2 for €105.30 (€52.65 each for 2 or more) before 20% discount making it roughly €84.

    Am I missing something?

Yeah i was thinking. There should be some form of minimum S.P. put forth by the companies and if the Gyms cut underneath it then they withdraw from supplying them. I can imagine it must get on your jabs alright!

Because the price says "buy two for E52.65 each"..it doesnt give you a 20% discount on top of that..unless i'm missing something!

    The site takes lazer, sweet.

edit: some of the protein products don't have the weight clearly shown at the top. its not a major issue but when the lads are going to be doing other fix ups anyways they might make that clearer, so you can compare product prices easier.

Assuming the 58.50 price for one Big Whey is correct....

    58.50 x 2 = 117, since you're buying 2 products you take away 20%.

    117 - 20% = 93.60

So presumably it is cheaper than fitnessireland if my calcs are correct.

FTR.... 58.50 - 20% does not equal 52.65 either. So I don't know where that figure's coming from.

    Just Checked RAM too https://nutritionx.ie/store/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=45&osCsid=8459b0eb50d2219bf8e5f93e46ccb721
31.50 for one. So 63 for 2. Applying the 20% discount it should come out at 50.40. Or 25.20 a pop. So again I don't know where 28.35 is coming from there!!

Hmmm... Both the 52.65 for the Big Whey and 28.35 for the RAM is 90% of the full price.. Soooo.... maybe they're only giving a 10% discount? Or maybe the pricing system had something inputed wrong.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 578 ✭✭✭Leon11

    Hanley,

if you go to the Nutrition X site you'll see it says big whey 58.50 or buy 2 for 52.65 each.

It also says it will work out the discount at the final payment page so I assume that's why we're not seeing the real price!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,981 ✭✭✭✭Hanley

I've very much aware of what is says.... where did you think I was getting my info from? (hell I even linked to it in my previous post)

The "buy 2 for.." price is 10% lower than the price for one. There might be some twisted logic at play where by 2 10% discounts = one 20% discount. But as you said, we're not seeing the final price so I assume that's where the discount's applied.

that'd be me not reading the post properly!

Ye it looks like they've just taken 10% off the "buy 2 for". Hopefully if someone can clear it up we'll know whether it's really 10% or 20%. F'n creative accounting!

Lads don't look at me when it comes to figures. I only pack boxes and pimp on discussion forums. Hence my title here, the boxing pimp. :o

I'll ask the NutX lads to look at it. I thought it was the same pricing as www.Pronutrition.ie and Fitness Ireland.

Can I interrupt the algebra head-scratching for some advice on the best supp for my needs?:)

I'm trying to burn fat primarily, so the bit of muscle I'm building is more visible. At a quick glance I was thinking of getting Big Whey/Pro X as 'during the day' protein and some RAM as a post-gym chugdown?

I currently use Maximuscle Cyclone, because it's easy to pick up everywhere, but I'm fed up using it as it's too dear.

Ok placed an order with these guys on Friday afternoon, no sign of it yet, no response to emails, no phone number on their website, no contact from them whatever apart from an email confirming the order had gone through.

EDIT: Since got in touch with them, I was a bit unclear and took ordering on Friday afternoon to mean I'd have my delivery on Monday. Apparently, however, you need to order before 11am to ensure the delivery is processed that day, and then delivered in the following days. So the 'Free Next Day Delivery' stuff on their site shouldn't be taken completely at face value, or at least it shouldn't be if it makes you think that ordering in the afternoon will bring you your product next day.

It only will if you've ordered before 11am...or something

    Hi Cavanmanic,
You've rightly pointed out that, like all next day deliverys, your order must be in before a certain time the previous day. You placed your order at 5pm on Friday. Like Des Kelly we like to rest on the weekend so therefore your order would not have been processed until the next working day - Monday. That is also why no one responded to your 5 or so emails over the weekend.
You can take the free next day delivery at face value, because... it is free and it will be next day once you give us a few hours to process it.

    All the best
    NutritionX Team

Mods, can you please IMMEDIATELY edit the use of Christian name in the post above, thank you

I now understand the nuances of the delivery system but taken at face value, will your average punter not think when he reads 'Free Next day Delivery' that if they order one day, they will receive their order the next? Or am I the only one who would read it that way?

Instead I think punters would appreciate being told that if they order after 11am on a certain day, their package is processed the following day and (if I follow it all correctly), delivered the day after that? i.e. it's now Tuesday at 5pm and no delivery yet but maybe that's because I've had to change delivery address.

Also, the five emails I sent were ALL sent on Monday (a working day), and another today, and the reason I sent five was because I was getting no response to any of them in the first place, and there is no phone number advertised on your site.

I'm not having a go or trying to damage your business but I arranged a day off work to be at home to pick up delivery and could get no response to my inquiries which is extremely frustrating. I accept the misunderstanding was mine to a degree but your website is to my mind a touch misleading and I think customers would appreciate greater clarity.

If there's any other dialogue you would like to have, can we do it over PM from now on please.

I've nothing to do with NutritionX, have never used their website or bought one of their products...

But, if I bought something online at 5pm on a Friday evening I would not expect to have it on Monday. All sites/services I've ever come across with "Next Day Delivery" have a threshold on what time you need you order to be placed in order for it to arrive on the next working day... Also, when it comes to "next day" - it goes without saying, to just about all right-minded people, that it means the next working day...

You come across like you have some kind of agenda going here, even though I'm sure you don't...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 345 ✭✭cavanmaniac

I have no agenda. I don't buy like this online very often and made a mistake - which I've acknowledged - but am simply pointing out that others - 'right minded' folk I think you'd call them - might make the same one and maybe it'd be an idea to clearly indicate the delivery mechanism so that everyone is clear, little old me included.

I am clever enough though to know it meant the next working day which is why I took the Monday off as being a right minded person as you'll see above, this was when I expected delivery, erroneously as it turned out.

Like I said, I have no agenda, but there were some inaccuracies in Nutrition X's reply I wanted to address and I think you'd do the same.

Yeah but in fairness if you look at the shipping info page it does say:
Delivery times quoted are estimates only
    and
Goods held in stock at our warehouse will be shipped within 24 hours of receipt of your order, and delivery can be expected within 1-3 working days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 345 ✭✭cavanmaniac

Yep I saw that subsequently when I went searching deeper due to not getting any response to my emails but like I said a few times now, I initially took the front page ads at face value.

My lesson is to read the small print and no problems there but I still think it could be better explained in the more visible areas. Earlier in the thread I think there may have been some confusion over pricing and discounts as well so maybe there are some clarity issues on the site in general, like you get with new businesses.
Any of the other quibbles that I have I will take up privately with the vendor, outside of this forum.
