Unreal Tournament 3 will support native Keyboard/mouse when it's released here in March. Other than that you can use a FragFX but it doesn't offer true Keyboard/mouse as a PC. The sensitivity levels vary from game to game.

The capability is all there so It's all down to the game itself whether the Mouse or Keyboard is supported.

I've got Ubuntu installed on mine. It works just fine though it doesn't have access to all of the hardware resources that XMB does. Can't say I have real use for Linux though, XMB is getting pretty good at media sharing etc.

Sometimes play.com have them in stock, but I'm not sure about shipping to Ireland with it.

    Otherwise there's ebay or www.splitfish.de
But It aint cheap and works differently for each FPS game, sometimes good, sometimes not so good.

    Say Thankee Sai ;)

Have YDL installed, haven't used it months! Browser is much faster plays all format types(video not as good as xmb though). Ubuntu doesn't natively support the wireless card so if you need it go with ydl . I have to stress internet access is VITAL for linux on your ps3 . Personally i don't think its worth it

I have YDL installed as well - agree that its not worth the effort - unless you are really stuck for a pc.

I have to agree , I installed it , but only to be able to play media files that werent supported otherwise at the time , its no subsitute for a PC and with all the updates the console has had lately my original reason for installing YDL is gone.

Theres no need for it anymore, except as maybe a curiousity.

    http://www.streammygame.com/smg/modu...ow_It_Works#12

thats meant for ADSL 2 and is heavily contingent on upload speed with your BB package.

ADSL 2 is not generally available yet in this country and upload speeds average out at about 256k , limiting gameplay to a paltry 320 x 240 resolution. Thats not up to much , even a 2MB upload speed only gives you 800 x 600 , not really worth the hassle of the install.

The table down the page shows whats generally available in other countries as broadband packages , they put us to shame , thats the market that product is intended for , not Irish connection speeds. ( Really shows up how far behind we are in terms of Broadband speed and availability.)

Would your ADSL speed really matter if you were streaming from a local source on your network? Surely only the speed of your LAN matters then.

That would probably be OK , but would severely limit online gaming , is what I was getting at.

Only if you're actually streaming a game from a remote location. Online play for a streamed game should function just fine as long as the game itself is local.

Of course all this really saves you is the hassle of hooking your PC to your TV.

I have Linux installed but its VERY slow on the PS3 because it can not make proper use of the cpu and only 256mb of system ram, plus it has no 3d accelleration so you can not play good linux/pc games on it.

So worth it if you want to learn a little about Linux without messing around with the PC... Its not worth it if you have a PC though.

I like the look of that fragX thing. Im rubbish at COD4 online with the sixaxis. Not to mention every time i gain levels, they disappear on me. Have not played since before Christmas because of it.
