Dunnes seem to think it is an August opening.

According to a few planning applications gone to Kilkenny Co Co at the moment, it looks like Carphone Warehouse, Leighlin Pharmacy, and MBCC Foods (KFC) could also be confirmed in the next few weeks.

Also on a side note, it looks like KFC got their planning premission for a Drive-thru for their unit out by Tesco Ardkeen. It came attacthed to just one condition, they can only operate it for a period of 5 years in which case a rentention has to be applied for. The reason for this is
    REASON
    1. In order to facilitate the monitoring of the development in relation to its
impact on the amenities of the area and to enable the Planning Authority to reassess the development in the light of the circumstances then prevailing.

consider me dim but do all the shops interested in taking up the units need to have or go for planing??

I wouldn't imagine so. I am guessing its only does who may want to chance a size of an actual unit or something else that differs from the original planning permission.

It still beggers belief why they didn't make it a drive-thru from the start or did they apply for it and get refused?

Refused. I think they made a few attempts to get it but each time it was refused.

MBCC foods also operates the franchises for Pizza Hut and Costa Coffee in Ireland so judging by the planning application for cafe/restaurant, it may be Costa Coffee that will be going in.

Would have to agree with you on that. Beside Dunnes stores and possibly Pennys (which still has not been confirmed). I cant see much more of an attraction.
