Ive searched the web high a low for a place to get the following.
    • Wind proof trousers
    • Wind proof jackets
    • Goretex or water proof trousers
    • Goretex or water proof jackets
In big sizes to no avail. I found one site which has what I'm looking for but is messed up when i go to order. So anyone any advice on where to buy?

AFAIK, Liamo got himself some good British DPM gortex kit for next to nothing not long ago. Might want to go checking the bushes around the area to find him though :D

I can get the smaller M sizes no problem, in fact there seems to be a flood on the market. Its the larger sizes that are proving a problem.

I know it's way out but I know there's an army surplus store in Limerick that stocks DPM gortex in pretty much every size as well as windsheeter clothes. I've a set of Portwest gear from them and it's top notch. If all else fails, you could do worse than a trip to there.

If you don't mind paying for P+P from the UK then check out www.surplusandadventure.com or else try www.genuinearmysurplus.co.uk
I've gotten stuff from the-Outdoors.co.uk myself it's mostly grade 2 stuff yet great condition but I did get fleeced with the P+P £37  (boots, belt and trousers). Hope its of some use.

It's just off Capel street. They have a decent enough selection. Some of the stuff is priced okay. I've bought a few pairs of boots in there.

There's no real surplus though. It's all more or less new. Well it would want to be the way it's priced anyway

It's a shame as if the stuff was priced a bit better it would be a great source.

i used to buy waterproofs and balaclava's there every now and then for fishing/camping trips down the bog, the aul fella in there always looked at me suspiciously as if he thought i was in the IRA or something.,:D

Hey Boston are you looking for British DPM specifically or will any woodland DPM do?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,163 ✭✭✭✭Boston

I was looking for DPM. I ended up getting some wet gear from www.surplusandadventure.com . I'd been there before but for some reason missed it. Maybe because the Gore-tex stuff is all too small. Still looking for some quality trousers though as they don't seem to do the windproof stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 102 ✭✭unit88

i got a jacket and trousers in the army bargins for 60 euro which i taut wasnt that bad but some of the prices are way to expencive for me considering the fact im broke

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,163 ✭✭✭✭Boston

For new stuff thats not a bad price. However considering you could get that combination of Grade1 stuff for as little as 25 pounds on some sites, it is another question. I do recall he was looking for 50 euro for a non ripstop used DPM jacket at one stage.

That seems like a good site, I had a look.

I was looking for surplus stores before but google was bloody useless.

I'm tempted by the flecktarn they have, but I really want some russian surplus, where would I find that? Bearing in mind I have bloody looked before and found F all.:D

Flecktarn seem pricey enough though, I was browsing them, and compared to the second hand stuff in the sites above, well theres a big difference.

Edit: Just clarifying I know that wasnt aimed at me, just a general comment about flecktarn :D

Try www.asmc.de Just got a load of stuff from them today. Reasonably cheap and the shipping isn't too expensive, just a bit slow (about 1.5 weeks)

I bought a ripstop jacket in Protac recently, it only cost €45 :D don't know if he has much in the way of goretex but it might be worth having a look.

Either that or drinking mead. He's always drinking mead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 763 ✭✭✭Dar

Its a shame really. They're all so quiet when they're at home. But bring them into the big city and all of a sudden they're calling themselves 'Ironass Bollockkicker', drinkin themselves silly and loppin off legs at the kneecap.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,163 ✭✭✭✭Boston

    Hehe

right, www.transworldsurplus.co.uk requires some form of paypal but no paypal payment system, so forget that. Protac, I can't seem to find a website for and traveling is out of the question for a boy without his own transport. I'm reasonably happy with what I ordered, provided it shipped.

Wrt to flecktarn.co.uk, they are overly expensive. But in turn you get an extremely reliable service with quick turn around. If they had what I wanted in my size, I'd probably have ordered from them, as theres a lot of really really crap retailers out there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,021 ✭✭✭Hivemind187

    CRIVENS!!!

*nuts Dar and O1s1n into a pulp and proceeds to drink a gallon of mead, babble about porridge and pass out*

    p.s.

"Ironass Bollockkicker" ... well I have MY call sign :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,641 ✭✭✭zero19

Flecktarn are great i've ordered from them before they send a picture of what you ordered before it's sent and all to make sure the order is right

It shold be http://www.protacpx.com/ but its currently dead. Protac is fine but generraly a bit expensive for airsofting. They have a few bits and bobs that may be of interest.

I found ICOA.ie to be very good. I ordered two pairs of boots. They ran out of stock though and only had one pair of the boots I ordered.
So naturally they sent them out and refunded the rest, right?
No, they replaced the second pair with a pair of boots more than twice the price of the boots I actually ordered. Needless to say I was very happy when I received that email.:D

Well SniperSight its that kinda review that made me just order 250 euro worth of gear off them that i cannot afford!! :p
