Cheap ZMA

Found some surprisingly cheap ZMA. I ordered creatine from this place before it was the cheapest around. Before you had to spend a certain amount for free post to Ireland. Now there is no limit it seems, unless you actually order too much!

Now it says free shipping to UK, but it does Ireland too, though they give lots of options, recorded delivery, dhl, parcelforce 48hr.

Anyways it worked out €9.62 for 60 tabs via paypal. BUT the tabs are single doses. I thought that was a typo and asked them and they confirmed it is

450mg Magnesium, 30mg zinc, 10.5mg Vit B6 PER TABLET.

i.e. usually you have to take ~3 caps to get this. so really it is like €9.62 for 180 tabs. Cheap creatine too, and probably some other "own brand" stuff, I am not familiar with prices of other stuff. Some shops seemed comparable like bulkpowders for the creatine, but most charge postage.

I get really bad bacne when I take ZMA. Every single time I start taking it I break out within about 48 hrs. Bleugh

hmm, might affect women worse than lads boosting test and all. I was actually looking for an alternative sleeping pill. I take diphenhydramine for hayfever and it acts as a sleeping pill too. But if you take a lot you are drowsy the next day. Bad thing is I have gotten so used to it in summer months I end up taking it all year round. ZMA looks like it might kill 2 birds with the one stone, sleep well and benefit training.

Makes me break out too if I take full recommended amount. Half of it seems OK though.

Ah ZMA, can't say it does anything for me other than help me sleep , truth be told.

Many packs seem to say 2 tabs for women & 3 for men. So these big tablets might be better split for women. And that could be the reason why they are normally sold in smaller tabs, so it suits men & women. Not to mention easier to neck, I have giant 1000mg vitC pills, you feel like a drug mule taking them!

Well I am taking mainly for sleep, I am off creatine and any other stuff so any increase in performance will stand out to me. Do any of you feel drowzy the next day from them?

Cheers rubadub, I wanted to try ZMA and that's a great price. Got a couple of other things off the site too (protein). It charged me €6 for shipping, still great value though.

So ZMA, how is it better than (what I'm doing right now) taking a magnesium citrate and zinc supplement together???

That is the weird thing. It seems it has free shipping up to 2kg, and THEN they charge you! reverse of most places. It seems they use a courier for higher weights. Bit weird, there is nothing to stop you ordering stuff separate to get it all free. You might get a deal buying 2kg+ tubs of protein, but the shipping cost might offset the savings.

Cant really help. I presume it is just an easy way to get "ideal" proportions, and has b6 in it too. Probably a bit cheaper to buy combined too. Just easy, like people buying PWO shakes with the right ratio of carbs & protein.

My understanding is that these supplements are usually laden with calcium to help binding and this calcium reduces zinc or magnesium uptake (or both). This is why they want you to take ZMA two hours after eating and shortly before bed. That's the marketing blurb anyway.

Ive just been checking that link posted above to wikipedia and it says "The product should not be taken with calcium (cheese,milk,etc.), the reason being that calcium blocks the absortion of zinc."

So I doubt they actually put calcium in.

I break out in acne when I take ZMA or Creatine. Can't explain it. I take zinc tablets and magnesium liquid on a daily basis and never break out. Boobies.

It says it affects zinc, so it might not be in regular zinc tabs. But it could be in the magnesium and vit B6 tabs. First hit on google for magnesium got tablets that contain calcium ascorbate

They definitely don't put it in ZMA. It comes in little capsules of powder so doesn't require a binding / bulking agent like calcium. You head into a health food store though and what you find in there will likely contain calcium (at least the two places I checked did).

I got those pills. I am doubtful that they are what they say on the pack, i.e. the strength. I weighed some out and they seem to be 450mg each. It does say there is other ingredients (binders including calcium carbonate!)

It is unusual for a pill to weigh close to its ingredient value. i.e. I expected them to be around a gram, the additional wieght being the binder.

Also got a spot for the first time in ages! and feel another coming along :mad:

They're not what they say they are then. ZMA should not have any calcium carbonate in it for sure. You should send them back tbh.
