    Hi folks,

Not sure if this is in the right place but here goes.....

Got a new laptop over the weekend, there's no virus protection on it. Have been told that Norton would slow it too much and that AVG is the one to go for.

    Any suggestions?

Just in case you don't get an answer, it might be worthwhile checking out the Virus & Malware Removal forum for links and that jazz.

Moved from laptops. If these guys don't know which is the best then no-one will.

I'd go with avg or avast myself. Both are great and free. If you want to pay for one, I think nod 32 is meant to be the best.

AVG/Avast/AntiVir are all excellent free anti-virus programs

    Comodo or ZoneAlarm for firewall

AVG anti-spyware, SUPERAntiSpyware, Dr. Web Cureit for anti-spyware

SpywareGuard, SpywareBlaster for miscellaneous. These last two are one of the best

    All free and all excellent.
