Trying to plan a little summer trip (July) to get me over the winter blues!

Thinking of flying into Washington and making my way up through Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York (been before but really wanna spend a few more days there doing some of the touristy things I missed) and on to Boston (my sister will be there so free accomm!!!). Wondering if anyone has any recommendations of citys defo on the visit list and which ones to avoid. Hope to go for about 16/17 days in total.
