New HP Laptop

    Hi All,

I need to replace a HP laptop (Pavilion 2104) with a newer model after I had a little accident with it, It has to be a HP replacement, so don't even bother hinting at different brands.

    I have few requirements:
    Core 2 Duo
    15.4" Screen
    DVDRW
    120GB HD minimum 160GB Desired

I'm not fussy on RAM, I have plenty of 1GB sticks of DDR2 and a license of Vista I can use on the system. It's not going to be used as a gaming laptop, generally web surfing, the odd bit of football manager, web development and that kind of thing so I am happy to be involved with both the business and consumer lines of HP. Budget 900 euro.

    IMPORTANT LAST REQUIREMENTS
The Laptop must be able to be bought either in a retail store or via a website that will accept a laser card and ship to an address that is different to the billing address!

Best I have found so far is:

The one off elara looks good, the only thing I can see causing issue is trying to buy it online with a laser card and shipping to a different address. You could pop into PC World and have a browse as they stock a fair range of HP laptops (if it HAS to be HP) and would most certainly take laser. Aside from that also have a look on laptopsdirect.ie but they come with as big a caveat as PC World do.

The person who it is being replaced for has always had HP for many years and swears by them the only other brand he would consider would be Sony, of which you know is going to result in less specs for a higher price so we can really discount them. Unless someone has an unbeatable deal they have found somewhere.

I have ordered parts and bits and pieces from Elara in the past and have always have shipped to a different address without a problem. Laptops direct do not take laser else I would be looking at them, and they are very insistent on delivering to home address. I will not be here apart from Saturday's apart from after 7pm and before 8am.

That one on elara looks fine, they take laser and will ship to a different address than that of the billing address no problem at all. Or you could collect it off them if you live close by.

Can you add a 2nd address to your laser card?
