I happened to stumble across this appalling show a few weeks back, just to see where Ireland is regarding singing talent, or even to see if any of the contestants might surprise me i.e. display some shard of originality or charisma and not bash out well-worn Snow Patrol or Bell X1 covers time and time again. Not to go off on a tangent, but what galled me the most was the judges' arrogance, in particular Keith Duffy. There's no need to highlight pigface O'Connor's arrogant displays. That's a given and that's the way he is. No surprise there. The fact that he sums up all the contestant's efforts with a randomly selected 'that was good', 'that was bad', and 'that was okay' is very inspiring(audience included). What an unparalleled critique and insight this man possesses. And his insistence that any half decent looking blonde with a minimal degree of talent is great and passes through to the next round is shameful to say the least.

All this is expected but I was surprised to hear Kee' jump on the arrogant bandwagon. I always thought him a sound enough fella, but on this particular night he came across very cocky and very deluded, confusing actual talent with his circus days with the other four lads. At one point he had the balls to call himself a 'front man'. As far as I recall he wasn't even the fourth front man. Mikey Graham pipped him to that one. He also said something along the lines of ' you need to be singing at a level that we were'. Ha, hilarious stuff. How quickly people are to forget the reality of things. There were a few other egregious, barefaced moments of delusion to follow but not really worth mentioning. Just thought I'd throw this one out there.

Don't take it too hard. Some people on here look down on anyone with less thana thousand posts/six months service. Personally, I see you as being less of a geek than the rest of us.
