    please please(im beggin now!) someone has to know is it possible to get the sound of pages guitar in this solo into a strat??? obviously it wouldnt be exact but what kind of pickups do i need to get a sound with the same character as that sound?!!?!?

    C'MON PUT YOUR BRAINS TOGETHER!!!!!! :D

    You need a classic humbucker, but a strat singlecoil wont have you a mile off anyway. A pretty clean distortion (?) with a nice helping of mids and just enough bass to hear the pick with a nice defnition

    I think a strat would work. Using a clean amp and a tubescreamer on a little bit for some dirt. :) :cool:

    A strat on the second position with a clean and TS like Joe said would be pretty close.

    ah ya cant touch the original but yeah im a bit of a fan of tool myself(especially schism)!

    well i play a podxt live through a small PA in my room so i wont be changing any of that but im gettin new pickups as im building a strat so thats why i asked! i have quite a close sound to it (see below) already with my les paul but want some nice interesting tones from this new beast!



    the sound isnt too far off!
