Advice on Creatine

I've been gyming now for about half a year, and talking Maximuscle Cyclone. I've been very impressed with the results, but now I'd like to try something a little different for my new routine. It's purely just to shake up the little niche I've been in.

So, i was thinking of trying some pure creatine, but I'm a bit lost with it. Should I substitute the cyclone with a creatine drink/tablet and have some carbs/protien with it, or should I continue drinking the shake, just adding the creatine on top of it?

Or, perhaps, there's a nice all rounder someone can recommend? (Preferably a decent price, as the maximuscle is starting to strain the wallet! :))

As I said, this is purely to shake up the routine, so fire suggestions at me that I haven't thought of!

    Thanks in advance.

Oh, and if you could recommend a place to get them it'd be much appreciated.

Avoid maximuscle if at all possible, its very overpriced.A good all-round whey is Nutrition X or Big Whey..they can be got along with creatine from
    www.fitness-ireland.com
    They deliver free too!

Obviously you've already been impressed with Maximuscle - so I'm not sure why you'd want to go and avoid them now - apart from the fact that you think they're expensive. If you're using Cyclone every day, then try switching to only taking it pre and post workout. The 2 scoops everyday route is very effective but most guys tend to do that when they want to really bulk up very fast....and then switch to the peri-workout method (if you train 3 times per week that's just 6 scoops of cyclone per week, making it very affordable in my opinion).

I'm assuming that if you're training heavy, you probably train 3 times per week, meaning using this strategy you'd need 6 scoops of cyclone per week = ;10 per week (going by the 3 cyclones for £99). Essentially, three tubs of Cyclone would last you at least 2 months when used pre and post workout.

There are also other options, if you want to switch from Cyclone.....

I'd suggest trying Creatamax Extreme or Maxipower. Creatamax Extreme is the only creatine product that has personally worked well for me (afraid I'm a damn non-responder normally!) - it contains glutamine and a special Fenugreek extract to enhance insulin function and creatine/glucose uptake. Again, you may load this and then either take it everyday or just pre and post workouts works great too. As for maxipower - you only take it pre-workout and it will work literally on your first session (check out the beta-alanine research on google).

Honestly Creatine Monohydrate is Creatine Monohydrate, there's only a few companies that actually produce it and it should all be identical. If you believe it will help then take it with some glucose/maltodex. That, glutamine and protein is all cyclone is, you'd save a lot of money just buying them individually..

    Fact,

buy the ingredients separately and make your own,

It will save you a fortune

Agreed that high grade creatine (monohydrate) is essentially identical, however as I said I unfortunately do not respond to creatine monohydrate well - from any brand. However I do like creatamax extreme, which also contains [SIZE=-1]4-hydroxyisoleucine from fenugreek - a substance used for years to lower glucose levels in diabetics. The only downside for me is that I sometimes get low blood sugar crash when I take it after a heavy workout....I'm assuming because it shunts the glucose (and hopefully therefore the creatine) to my muscles so efficiently....but it's usually after 90 mins when I eat complex carbs again anyway. Good product in my book pre workout (diluted) and post workout.
