Installed AVG antivirus on old Pc today. 4 hours later and its is still scanning. All the scanners are really slow on thhat, the processor or the PC. What causes that? Processor? Memory?

Proccessor, RAM, Hard Disk speeds will all attribute to scanning times, older pcs have slower cpu types, slower memory and slower hard disks hence it goes slow, more ram could speed thing up though other factors could still be makeing it slow...

AGV is pretty slow the first time round it seems, after that no worries.

start>programs>accessories>system tools>disk defragmenter is no harm either. If your disk is fragmented it will slow things up too.

Other than that, it's pretty much as yoyo said above.
