Just a topic i started across the pond,i got some very intresting veiws so just want to know about the gang here.

ARE WE HAUNTING THEM OR ARE THEY HAUNTING US,,

i read a short story years ago (ive no idea what it was) based ont he idea of two paralell (sp) earths colliding so what on one side of the story looked like an old man haunting someone, it was infact the other way around as well, in the old man was being haunted by the one who thought he was haunting them. or something like that.

I'd say to ponder that question, you;d have to go the parallel universes route ...

The others was a very popular paranormal film where it turned out that the people who think that their house is hauted actually turn out to be ghosts themselves.

The Others was a good film.

I assume Danny22x is talking about us as in us on this plane or this world and them been those who have died or passed over. So taking it on a paranormal investigation route "Are we haunting them, looking for them", So to speak, but who's to say they are not doing the exact same on that side. (sounded better in my head) but imo we try and study them so, it is not that far of a leap to say or consider they study us.......

i have my own take on this. the fact that this thread and many others like it (about paranormal activity) almost automatically default to some terrible 'ghost' movie speaks alot about what paranormal actually means,
just a thought :rolleyes:

Good question, did you just watch "the others" with Nicole Kidman, I've experienced "them" haunting us, but I don't believe I'm haunting any one. Then of course "them" could be really us any way!!

i thats thats just a result of life. inspiration for movies and books normally come from life experiences, or theories of some sort. I do believe though that theres no real point in talking about a movie about the same idea as, well, movies are movies and not paranormal.

though, you would have to take the view that we are haunted by spirits to be able to answer dannys question - which isnt something I can say I really believe in as such. I still think the parallel universes theory fits - makes as much sense that parallel universes exist as that spirits exist.

Saw a show there awhile ago about a group of people trying to contact 'the other side'. They believed that there was a group of dead scientists etc trying to contact them from this 'other side'.

Was a bit strange but they had a recording that was supposed to be a dead member of their team telling them that he was now working with the other group.

Was 'The Others' based on that old movie 'The Innocents'? That one was a film version of Henry James' 'The Turn of the Screw'.

Yeah I always wondered after watching The Others if that was the case. It made me think if ghosts feel the opposite to us. Like when it gets cold when they are near, is that because we normally are warm? and they usually come out at night, and we prefer day etc.

You have to remember the mind is powerful, and when some thing happens to you, and you alone, its difficult to make a decision as to whether you experienced some thing paranormal. But when you have a witness, its a beautiful thing. While I have experienced alot, I still have a very open mind, I'm not convinced that every thing paranormal is linked to the dead or ghosts.
