Is Limewire any good for mac. I used it alot with windows for downloads and it could have been responsible for numerous viruses on my pc. I suppose my main questions are does it run smoothly on mac and did anyone have any problems with using it.

    Thanks in advance

think i read somewhere on macrumours i think that it corrupts files or something to that accord. Don't want it to slow down or anything. Is there any decent alternatives that mac people use ?

Ive used it for years without any hassle, just have to show a bit of common sense when choosing your downloads is all, same with anything.

+1 for Limewire. Like 440 says, just be careful what you download - all that glitters isn't gold.

Switched to Frostwire over the last month or so. Quite happy with it.

The latest Limewire versions are getting silly with torrent and media shop built into it. Damn thing keeps making new folders in my home dir everytime I moved up a version. I hate software that does that.

Also if you don't have access to a pro version of limewire the popup ad on startup gets annoying. Frostwire is free, Yay!

I use utorrent on windows and my mate uses it on mac and neither of us have had any problems with it. No slowdown and great download speeds.

Probably. Have you opened a port in your firewall and/or router? Check the advanced window in Transmission's preferences to see if the default port is open.
