I've installed a new hard drive lately which is meant to be SATA2.

Is there an easy way to tell in Windows if it is connected at SATA or SATA2 speeds?

The hard drive diagnostics diagnostics utility might tell you this info, then again I'm only speculating, Ultimate Boot CD has most diagnostics utilities on disc afaik or you can download them from the manufacturers site and put them on a floppy, usb key etc if your pc supports this

Run HDTach and see what it comes up with.
