    Hi all,
At the title indicates, I'm looking for equipment advise. I have a Nikon D70s and am looking for a tripod and a Flash gun.

For the tripod, I was something sturdy, not too worried about how the weight of it and something about €70 to €100 or so.

For the Flash, I'm not really sure how much to spend on one. A friend has asked me to do their wedding in May and need one for the Church and possibly indoor pics depending on weather. Any advice on what flash would be needed and a rough indication on how much it would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks!!

    Flashgun get the SB600.
The SB800 is more expensive and arguably better, but a lot of reviews stay the SB600 is actually better. Unless you need strobe flashing, go with the SB600.
    Tripod, the heavier the better.

I got the SB600 from China for 170 euro. Have seen some shops here charge around 300 euro for them

Well I travel to China every once in a while...so get it through either my relatives or myself.

To be honest, the prices in the US are even cheaper than China (not by much but a perceptible difference). Japan is ever so slightly cheaper than China too (but more expensive than the US).

...It's just that Irish (and generally European) prices are very high...but then so are our wages ;)

Another SB-600 user here, I'd recommend it. I'd also recommend getting PLENTY of practice with it before shooting a wedding.

    handy link

    best of luck with it!

I've got a D70s and bought a SB-600 to do a wedding, worked out well.
The SB-600 can be fired of camera using a built in remote,no extra cables etc
