Networking Problems

Hey - I'm having a few frustrating networking problems :(

About 2 weeks ago, I bought a Powerline Networking Kit, and set it up in my house.
Roughly 2 days after this was setup, I noticed a bit of ... strange ... goings on.

The TV in my bedroom (no cable connection - only an aerial) had a crazy amount of static from the start. Took me a while to figure out that it was interference caused by the powerline network adapters, so if I want to watch TV, I have to plug out the adapters.

I had Windows XP Pro installed. My motherboard has 2 onboard nics, and 1 day, my enabled nic simply stopped transferring data. The only way to fix it, was to reboot, so that's what I did. I ended up having to do it multiple times a day, as it was just so unreliable. Eventually, it just never came back up after the boot, so I enabled and swapped over to the second onboard nic. Same problem, but it only lasted about 1 day before it packed in.

I thought it was an OS issue, and as I was due a re-install anyway, I moved over to Ubuntu - and presumed that everything would be fine and dandy after the OS change. Neither of the onboard nics worked at all under Ubuntu - they were seen, and were installed by the OS, but it just couldn't manage to actually _use_ the cards to do anything.
So I went downstairs and robbed the 10/100 PCI nic from one of my old boxes, and slapped that in.

It was working intermittently, and I got a tad frustrated. I've since tested everything without the powerline network plugged in, I've changed the cables, and I've even changed my router incase that was the faulty section of my network, but no joy.
I woke up this morning and it had fallen over yet again, so now my sights are set on the hardware that runs all this - my motherboard (MSI K9N Platinum)

Has anyone come across this problem before? I need help :(
