word of warning about this blu-ray, afaik there is an issue with the subtitles where the bits of alien language that should be subtitled are not unless you have subtitles on for the entire film. Otherwise the picture in this is supposed to be great. great movie btw :)

£9.99? Total Recall? Get your ass to Mars!

I see T2 is also 9.99 (weak attempt to justify posting to this thread)

Yeah I bought T2. Have to say, very underwhelming. I have T2 on DVD as well and the Blu-ray marginally outperforms its upscaled brother. Very poor movie to show off the merits of Blu-Ray and HD in general. In fact, I have upscaled dvd's (matrix) which are alot more impressive than the T2 Blu-Ray.

Only buy if you don't already own it on dvd as it is a fantastic movie.

I heard that Total recall is supposed to be horrible on Blu-Ray and, in fairness, it makes sense. The dvd always looked ropey enough and the colours that are primarily used in the film (that mars red hue) would look pants in HD.

Lots of banding and artefacts in the DVD version allright - to do with the video compression - would be interesting to compare to see if the BR version is an improvement.
