Misco have this 22" model going for £135 and add postage of £17.61 = £152.61 which should work out about €205.

    Looks good to me.

Looks like a damn good deal to me. I have one of these but in a 19", never had a days grief with them, would've cost me roughly about the same price last Feb (bought from dabs.ie, now those guys can make your life a misery!). Widescreen is brilliant too.. I want a 22" now :(

Thats an excellent deal. I also know someone who had the 19" one and it was great. €205 for a 22" is brilliant.

Thanks for the tip off muffler, looks interesting. They also have another Hannsg for the same price, in black - HANNSG HI221D 22 TFT. Specs looks same to me, but there are no detailed specs or reviews... any thoughts?

PS: This might be in your inbox by now, Pixmania has a Daewoo LCD22SYM 22 wide for €181 + shipping (€14.90).

Pixmania one has no HDMI/DVI inputs though - just VGA.

I am looking for a larger display to try some photoshop stuff, but as always on a tight budget! Would these panels do the job or am I better of saving up (for ever) and buying a Samsung Syncmaster or something like that?! Google, here I come!

Unfortunately I know very little about monitors. The one I referred to above was highlighted in a daily email I get from Miscos and based on prices I seen posted in other threads in this forum I thought it looked good value. Someone with a good knowledge of the specs could comment better than me but I am tempted to buy it myself though.

Suddenly there's some competition! A Daewoo 22" for €196, including delivery, from Pixmania.

Update: Just noticed the Pixmania offer has been posted already. So I'll add this Acer 24" widescreen monitor for £197 + £7 delivery (about €273) from Saverstore. (I've estimated the delivery charge, it may be more.)

Unfortunately, it's more complicated than that if you need colour accuracy. Many of the cheaper (and all 22 inch) monitors come with TN panels - even the Syncmasters (I returned one yesterday).

    Here's an extract from a pchardwarehelp.com article:
    Summary of LCD Panel Technology

    * S-IPS panels are generally considered the best all around panel type, but they are more expensive and very few are made.

    * S-PVA/MVA panels offer better color reproduction and viewing angles than TN panels, have slightly worse response times than TN or S-IPS, offer the best contrast ratios, may suffer from color shifting or input lag and have higher availability than S-IPS panels.

    * TN panels are very cheap with fast response times but have inferior color reproduction, contrast ratios and viewing angles. Only panel type currently available in 22" size.

There is a LG 20" monitor available for 170 euro from Dabs.ie. I think it has a good specs too.
I bought this two days ago but still haven't opened the box.

I've had one of these for a few months and can't fault it.

This is slightly off topic but my sister wants a good monitor for photography to plug into her macbookpro. She will need one that is excellent at displaying colours very well and a high resolution too. I don't think she needs a big one but she is on a tight budget. Would anyone have any advice in the region of 200-400euro?

This Dell Ultrasharp 2007WFP 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor would be better than a lot of the TN panel monitors out there at the minute. There are issues with it regarding whether or not it ships with an IPS or *VA panel (IPS being the better of the two), but either would be better than a TN panel for your needs.

    Cheers, I see on dell's own site there are 22" monitors with webcams in them. Would they be compatible with a mac though? Here's an example;

    Would anyone recommend the above?

EDIT: I think it does work with mac according to this

As far as I'm aware that (along with many other newer dell monitors) is now a cheap TN panel monitor. Google for information on the monitor before you buy. Here's a (old - needs updating) list of monitors including their panel type: [Link]
