    Hi All,
Anyone got any ideas on where to honeymoon in January,

Was thinking somewhere with sun fiji or tahiti with an over water bungalow, but just looked them up and its rainy season there even though hot :(

Anyone got any suggestions that might be similar minus the rain?

Have u thought about the Caribbean / Mexico or Central America?
Also Jan is a good time to got to the Maldives. You could go shopping in Dubai or Singaopre for a few days and then fly on to the Maldives for some R&R!!

I'm also going on honeymoon in Jan 09 - Thinking of New York for New Years followed by central america in early Jan.

Let me know what u decide!

    Hi
We are planning our honeymoon for Jan 09 and was looking at thailand for 10 days. It is going to be extemely expensive cause that area is high season. Hawaii is meant to be good too. and you can island hop etc.
Also was looking up New york for 4 nights, disney world in LA for 5 nights and Las vegas for 3 nights (LA and Las Vegas are very close) the travel agent not finished pricing for me yet but will let you know.

We're doing Hawaii, Vegas and Florida. Altogether I think it's gona cost about 5K. Just not looking forward to the long flight but it's a once in a lifetime thing so who cares really.

maldives, good weather, no shortage of water bungalows, dead boring and very expensive

but nice, if you like living on postcard for a fortnight

Didn't realise there was so many of us getting married in January :)

As for the honeymoon, I'm thinking of Las Vegas and New York but I think it will be freezing in New York so unsure.

    Hi,

We were in Mexico for Christmas as I can't recommend it enough. We stayed in 'El Dorado Royale' on the Mayan Riviera which is an all-inclusive gourmet resort for over 18's. Heaven!!!!! Check out the website!! Loved the six foot 4 poster leather beds by the pool:D. The trips there are amazing too. Weather was lovely, late 20's. Mega romantic and totally relaxing.

Cruise from Miami out to Bahamas and then head to Key West to chill out for a week.....

Hi CrazyNoob.I,d definitely recommend Mexico. We were there Xmas just gone and the weather was glorious. We spent 12 nights all inclusive in Cancun and hit New York for 5 nights on the way home.Huge range of hotels to choose from.
We got our multi-city flights for 720euro with Continental and booked our hotel at the last minute literally!! with Bookit.com who had by far the best rates at the time.
Anyway rant over, good luck with whatever you decide.Let us all know!!

Can anyone recommend travel agents or websites for booking honeymoons in places like the Caribbean or Indian Ocean? Thanks:)

We did a three week holiday in Florida in Jan just gone. We started with a carribean cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. There's a loads of cruise options on Hotwire.com.

Then we spent some time in Miami and the Florida Keys, but it would be just as easy to have a few days in one of the Caribbean Islands, chilling out - would prob have a chance of water bungalows there..... Flights and packages to Caribbean Island out of US are cheap and there's loads of them on the internet travel sites....

We finished off the hol with 4 days in Orlando doing all the fun Theme Park things.

All in all a fab hol. Florida has so much to offer, and the weather was great the whole time (well, two rainy days out of 18)

Isn't this question "where should I go on my honeymon?" the bread and butter of Hook & Fionn Davenport on Newstalk 106? Sign up for their e-mails.

BTW, to be racist for a moment: Irish peopple often have fair skin. Is Mexico in winter a better option than say Cannes in August? Suggestions might incorporate this aspect?

    P.S.: Congratulations !! :D

We had a tiny wedding 1.5 years ago but we went to Paris for a delux week in January, anything that I wanted I got! I would recommend it as Paris is the city of love and there is nothing more romantic than walking down the streets of Paris with the person you love.

If you are looking at Thailand I'd recommend Phi Phi Island. Really beautiful island, very peaceful and relaxing.
I'd throw in Cuba as an option as well.

If you want a water bungalow, go to the Maldives as it's high season there in January. The W resort in the Maldives looks amazing! Tropical Places, Classic Resorts & TwoHigs all do Maldives.

Did some research on thwe suggestions :)

Decided to go to the Maldives and Dubai, wasnt cheap but i knew it wouldnt be !
The US and then the Caribbean was our second choice but they didnt seem to have the water bungalows.
    Thanks for the good suggestions

We got married last November and went to Tokyo for two weeks for honeymoon. (Neither of us tans well :) ) Anywho we got 14 nights in a 5 star hotel and flights for 3500 euro for both of us. We had a brilliant honeymoon, Japan is kickass. Might be worth considering of you're not really a beachy person.

Not many water bungalows in the Caribbean but there are loads of great deals out there at the moment to places like Mexico, St. Lucia, Barbados. And weather should be good in Jan.

Only recently booked our honeymoon for Jan '10. :)

We're going to Lanzarote for a week. None of us (myself, fiancée or kids) have been there before and we don't have a packet to spend on faraway destinations. Cheap and cheerful. :D
