O'Leary strikes again, how hypocritical is it for Ryanair to complain about increased airport charges. Will now be €26 return to bring chack in luggage. Low fares does not mean low cost. this is a joke. Will surely cost them a lot of customers

I try to avoid them as much as possible at this stage, they are joke now, advertising flights for a euro and what not and by the time you are finshed its up around €100

I avoid them myself,as much as possible.
I find not much difference between them and Aerlingus on the routes I take.
In the past I have paid the extra in fare with Aerlingus or other carrier.
Only to realise that when you add in Checkin/baggage/Credit card charges for a return journey, ryanair turns out to be more expensive!

If you bring a bag it will add €32 (€9 ew baggage, €4 ew check in and €3 ew credit card fee) onto the fare which alledgedly included taxe and charges. this is an absolute joke!! Looks like I'll only use them for short hops (day trips to sports evnts etc) from now on.

Ugh............much easier to fly "full-fare" airlines nowadays over RYR......their grand for day trips and whatnot but this has gotten rediculous

I've noticed aswell that more and more people are bringing larger bags into the plane.
When I was coming back from Poland, the Airhostess told a couple of customers to give it to the baggage handler who would put it underneath.
Basically they got their luggage on free :)

and penalising again the families travelling with small infants who have to have hold baggage / use check in desks ....
Ryanair uses it Baggage charges to cover the increase in fuel charges....

And there I was defending them the other day...

You can see what he's trying to do though, the less administration (i.e. Airport and baggage check in) the less it costs Ryanair to fly. Don't completely slaughter Ryanair though, if it wasn't for O'Leary's business model (Which he robbed off Southwest Airlines :o) you could quite concievably still be paying ~£200 return to London.

As a single fare flying to the UK if you are prepred to fly the off peak times it works out ok.

As a family they are unusable - will not heat bottles or let you on prioirity checkin without a battle - which you dont want if you are travelling with a baby.

I use Aer Lingus as much as possible. At least they are friendly.

Ryanair might as well put cardboard cutouts where their staff go.
Hmmm I wonder do ryanair pay for money saving suggestions.

Very true, the no pooling or sharing of baggage allowances between a family is unfair, so for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids on a 2 week holiday you could have 4 bags instead of 2 larger bags of the same weight. Which is a nightmare to manage with taxis buses etc.

One of the many things I noticed was that on my last Ryanair flight, the on-board luggage space was all used up by people taking on huuuge suitcases as handluggage. I felt bad with my packed li'l back, but these were full on suitcases people brought on board. Guess thats what happens when people have to pay for stuff.

No disagreement but he's completely alienating a huge section of the market and p!ssing off the rest of it. More charges => more people off to aer lingus etc. Ryanair seem to forget that their customers actually pay their wages/profits etc.

Yes, Ryanair have shook up the stuffy European Airline industry. But you have be aware since this business model was a carbon copy of success with Southwest Airlines, somebody else would have adopted it and a shake up would of occured at some stage anyway.

What Michael O'Leary is saying is that customers are not important to him, that we are all mindless sheep that will travel with Ryanair regardless of what actions he takes from now on because he is the shining light, and that as lond as he keeps shouting enough about how much everyone else is overcharging us, he can continue to bring in stealth charges and pull the wool over our eyes.

He is a dispicable man and more people have to take a stand to show him we will not tolerate it. Otherwise down the line people will be charged for being overweight or even for the oxygen we breath inflight.
