    Hello everybody,

Maby I'm not the longest user of boards.ie forums (i.e number of posts), but have brilliant idea (I think..).

As all we can see there is many threads like: "Karate in Kilkenny" or "Aikido in Cork". There is also one more collective thread: "Martial Arts in Waterford" which went off-topic.

I also know, that i.e on www.fightireland.com, You can find dojo searcher which is good, but many (good or interesting for somebody) places may not be there. I'd like to include boxing clubs, classic wrestling clubs etc. (even those are not considered as MA)

I'd like to keep it neat. I prefer not to put comments on the training process nor on staff predisposition to be trainers. Basically follow the formula. I don't what to make an advertisment just gather all in one place:). I encourage sellf lerning groups to include themself, if looking for more members (it's up to You).

So I think will be good if form will look like that:)

    1. City/Area: (i.e Waterford or In Proximity of Kilkenny)
    2. Dojo/Club: (Name, Address)

There was a thread like this before and it was deleted. Simply put, it was cluttered and uninformative. If you wanted a club in Dublin North you had to trawl through 8 or 9 pages to see what you wanted.

The current system is best, where if you want a club you just open a new thread and ask. That way you get specifics and you get to introduce yourself too.

but why? was it uniformative bcs of off-topic posts? No one is forcing You to contribute. In my opinion, this is very good solution, and I can arguee about curent system and its reliability.

Your right nobody is forcing him but this is a forum and hes giving his opinion just like you.

Personally i agree with him. Its a nice way for new people to introduce themselves and we all get the reward of them posting their comments a few weeks later about how much they like the place they just started training in etc.

Also i doubt there is a representive on these boards for every martial arts club in ireland???

    Roper essentially answered the question.

Fora are for current (disposable) topics. When someone posts looking for an ma club, they can get a better response than if they just scrolled through pages.

Chances are as well, that even with a database set up, people would still post and ask anyway.

    Colm the Mod

But chances are if we gather date and put this on google maps, things will get even easier. I don't know, maybe this is not such a good project and will die bcs of ppls conformity.

    andros,

i don't know where you think you are going with a responce like that to my post?

your not gonna get your way with this one as the main users have come to a decision that it is a waist of peoples time.

attacking me for going off topic (when i did'int!?) ain't gonna score you any points. your all welcome to post your club details on MAIreland.

I don't know why You feel being attacked (It wasn't in my intentions). If You felt attacked, please accept my deepest apologies. I believe my idea will serve well, and I protect my opinion, for which have constitutional rights. I respect what You think, but don't agree - and it want stop me. Besides You are doing similar thing on MAireland (so You are duplicating solution which didn't work on forum with bigger number of users) , so maybe instead of attacking my driven by emotions know only to You, We can Team-up and Co-Operate, as we whant to achieve the same result.

    A) dnt use txt spk
    B) We tried it before, it didn't work - this isn't based on conformity
    C) Calling any group of people's conformists will not help your cause.

at A) Sorry, it want happen again
at B) My Aim is different than just gather this all together and leave it. I'd like to put this on google maps.
at C) With all respect, but there is difference between caling group of people conformists and saying: "because of people conformity" refering to people as Man-Human beeing.
