My girlfriend booked her holls with her mates to Spain last night....
Shes gonna be gone for a whole week:D:D:D
So it got me thinking, i want a holliday too but not another boring sun holliday, Have any of you guys been on a hunting holliday?
I did a brief search on the net and found a few in the UK.
I would be looking to do some stalking and wild boar hunting.
Can anyone reccomend a place or company who does this sort of thing and if you were on one of theese types of trips, how was it on the pocket?

there was acrowd pedaling their wears at the game fair in Birr back in August. I picked up a brochure, said that would be nice untill I saw the price. Did some further rooting and came up with this:

    http://www.colebrooke.info/rates.htm#snipe

Tomorrow I will spend the day on a driven/walked up shoot, I'll let you know if it was worth it. I am a rough shooter, this will be my first day

Jeez that's a license to print money, they charge you to use the land and then they get to charge you for anything you shoot (I assume they mount the head for you) while they go and sell all that lovely lovely venison.

You'd buy a nice shiny new firearm for the pleasure to shoot something, wouldn't you?

Ah I'm an airsofter too, I could buy a dozen shiny new rifles for that kind of money :D

Looked up prices in Poland last year, Boar and Deer price looked very good i think it was 3 days hunting for around 1100euro, + b&b, do not be fooled my the price if you shoot any thing then you pay the big money, It was around 300 for small pig to 800 for big one and these boys were getting 8 or 9 per day. just like a phesant shoot, you line up and they drive the boar out to you. In the end it would have cost to much to go. If you have won the lotto try this site Diana Hunting Tours.

    Is it really that pricy?
625 per shooter, 3 nights accom, 2 days shooting.
Just noticed it was GBP, steep enough so.

Knew a lad who went to Poland shooting pheasants, like me he was a rough shooter covering lots of ground around home with dogs, bog that kind of craic. Twas his first driven shoot he didn't like it that much, said twas no good there was no hunt there so many pheasant. Personally I'm not one for driven shoots tis a bit like shooting fish in a barrel but if you're into that. Just warning you in case you're not used to driven shoots they are a bit different to your typical Sunday shoot around these parts (where I am anyway!!)

I was part of a 6 gun miny driven shoot yesterday in wicklow (pheasant and duck). It was a great day. It is not the slaughter people think it is, ground rules

    1. Shots only to be taken which have plenty of sky behind them
    2. Choose your shots, you don't have to blast at everything that went past

The birds where high and challenging. I'd recommend the experience, I'll definetly do it again

Diana also do packages in Poland(usually 3 boar/deer) over three days for not a lot more, around 1500. www.Diana.dk. Unless they've changed the law in Poland you couldn't borrow a rifle there, you'd need a .30+ range of calibre with a low mag. (1.5 - 3) on the scope for driven boar. Boar shooters in Europe mainly use
9.3x62 or 9.3x74R calibres, a lot of stopping power!
