PSP question

My son broke the screen on his PSP that he got for Xmas recently. Is it possible to get a cable so that he could route the video output from the console to a TV or computer so that he can continue to play games?

Anyone know how much it costs to replace the screen?

Is it one of the new Slim PSP models? You can output games only if you have HDTV, music and video can be outputted on regular SDTV.

You can get a replacement screen at Dealextreme here.
Obviously you will void warranty by replacing it yourself.

Yeah it's one of the slims. Getting a HDTV soon so at least can keep that in mind. I didn't even send in the warranty for it yet, but it wouldn't cover the damage anyway since he broke it himself through mishandling... or would it? I think they should make those bloody screens a bit more robust anyway... such as put a clear perspex laminate in front of the delicate LCD screen... or perhaps they deliberately make them flimsy so that people will break them and have to repurchase or send them in for repairs - more business... I've had digital cameras and handheld organisers that seen the same fate as my sons PSP... annoying since they cost so much to replace.

There is a clear platic piece in front of the LCD. He must have pressed something on it to damage the LCD.
Sony won't fix it for free as its not a manufacturing fault. I have no idea how mich they will charge to repair it.

i picked up two psp component av cables ( €20 each ) in harvey normans for the kids psp lites , so they could hook them up to there lcd tv's and it works well .

they had other cables there also for hooking up your psp to your tv from around €15 as far as i remember.
