    Hi,

Kind of sick going on sun holidays. Would like to do something different.

Would be going with wife and 2 year old.

still open to 1 or 2 weeks. Don't want to spend a fortune on accomodation. So would be open to mobile home as long as they are a good standard.

Would not mind moving around, but not every night. For example would like a night or two in cannes and then a few days by the beach.

I know it sounds like I do not know what I am looking for. But any sugegstions, or similar holidays you took would be great.

I went to the south of France on my honeymoon last August. We stayed in Nice, Monte Carlo, Cannes, and Ste Maxime. They were all very expensive places to holiday. Both myself and my wife liked Cannes the best - it is a very nice place.

We went for 2 weeks and spent a few days in each place. It was very annoying and tiring having to pack and unpack everything every few days - I'd recommend that you take this into consideration when you are making your plans. I like travelling from place to place but if you're meant to be on a relaxing sun holiday it doesn't really work well.

Driving in the tourists towns in the south of France during the summer can be frustratingly slow especially places near St. Tropez. Parking is great fun too.

We stayed in a hotel in Cannes with a little corridor and kitchen in our room so it was a sort of apartment. It was very reasonably priced as well and had a small swimming pool. I think it was called Hotel Europe on Rue du Madrid or something like that. That could be way off though, I can probably find out for you though.

What not try the west coast of France? Lovely scenery, lots of beaches and loads to do. You could fly into Rennes or Bordeaux with Aer Lingus. Or Nantes / La Rochelle / Biarritz with Ryanair.

For accomodation, try "siblu.com". Very nice mobile homes, parks are excellent - would really suit you guys. We have stayed with them twice, in Les Charmettes and Le Bois Masson. If booking with them use the "siblu.fr" website as the pricing is cheaper - why I could never figure out!!

There's quite a few companies who do ferry-based camping holidays where you take your own car. Did a few of them as a kid and loved it. The ferry is as much of an adventure to a little kid as any of the campsites!
