So I want some more handheld Zelda action having finished Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass and Link To The Past. I have most of the other LoZ's on that Gamecube disc so I'll play them on the Wii which leaves the Oracle games.

Has anyone played these? Are they any good? How are they linked (anything online seems quite vague) can you use passwords or link cables? Or does using the link cable give you any extra functionality?

Haven't played these for a long long time, but they're great games - very clever game mechanics.

When you finish either game, you are given a password (or you can use a link cable) for the other game where you have to complete some special tasks. You are then given access to a final dungeon (Heroes Cave - different in each game) and a final boss area where you save Zelda, battle Ganon etc.

They are both wonderful games. You'll need to play both games to get the last dungeon and boss but both games are so good and completely different massive 8 dungeon zelda adventures that it's not a bad thing. The games are also much tougher than any of the latest zelda games which is refreshing.

Both great games, worth getting. Seasons is the easier of the two but class games, especially because you have to play them twice to actually complete it. Good luck getting them :D

A few on eBay whenever I look (OK some shipping from Japan but only 8 real pounds to the UK)

Thanks for the link Mr E. the password setup is properly explained and I avoided the spoilers

Only ever played Ages but was a terrific game, as all 2D Zeldas tend to be.

It's all turned up, I love you eBay.

I got a purple Gameboy Color (with rechargeable battery and a/c adaptor), both Oracles (unboxed and no instructions but meh) and decided to get Link's Awakening DX as well (why not eh?) for a touch over £50 including postage (I'm based in London) in three auctions.

Charging the battery pack up now and will play it on the tube home (and maybe the rest of the night, depends on Super Mario Galaxy's siren call).

Should I start with Ages or Seasons....
