Thanks for the quick answer, if the links are working, then there must be a problem with my PC :(

Anybody have any ideas what the problem could be?

Everything was fine until last Wednesday, but than all of a sudden the live stream stopped and I haven't been able to connect since then.

    not too sure
you could try clearing cookies and temporary internet files
my pc doesnt seem to like the today fm website either

Or bypass the website altogether - www.radiofeeds.co.uk/irish.asp
What player are you using, Sin scéal eile?

As a standard, I'm using Windows Media Player, but I've tried with Real Player and VLC Media Player

Unfortunately none of the ideas offered have worked, thanks anyway and if anyone has anymore ideas, let me hear them :)

    Thanks

My eyes don't like the Today FM web site. It's not a very good design.

Here's how to listen to Today FM online anyway:

Open Windows Media Player (from your start menu, or click start>run and type wmplayer and hit [Enter])
Click File > Open URL (Or Press Ctrl+U)
Enter http://audio.todayfm.com/todayfm3.asx in the address box
    Hit [OK] or press [Enter]

That usually works for me but it won't connect at the moment for some reason. Possibly, the stream is down.

    [EDIT @ 10.45am] - It's working now - I'm hearing Ray D'Arcy.

Tried that about 100 times already, it still doesn't work, but thanks anyway.

    Keep getting this error message:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct

I haven't changed any proxy settings so I don't think that can be the problem

Dunno, that ASX file link is working for me in Windows Media Player 11. Ray D'Arcy is talking about red heads. He's even read out my texts. :)

That's a shame, I had hoped there was something wrong with the link, which would mean as soon as I got another one it might work....

Maybe the admin at work changed the firewall settings, but all other Radio stations work (I've tried about 20 different ones, no problems - but I'm addicted to today FM :(

Todayfm's website is a very poor site.

I too have the same problems trying to connect using http://audio.todayfm.com/todayfm3.asx

Ive tried over LAN with proxy server and a broadband connection without proxy.

If i try to open the todayfm site directly my browser hangs.

Wont be going back again in a hurry.

    I'd suggest using Winamp.
Download it, install and do a file-association with .m3u and .pls files.

Also works for me with Media Player 9 at the moment. But that web stream often acts up, esspecially at busy times like when Ray of the Arcys is on.

I use VLC and the iTunes stream on my Vista laptop, the Media Player one hasn't worked for me in a good few months.

Well you could always switch over to Phantom 105.2, Dublin. We stream in 3 formats - Windows Media, AAC+ and MP3 so you can listen in a wide variety of players and both PC and Mac. Our bitrates are 48K wordwide and 128K for the folks in Ireland.

Full info plus where to download the various players is available here:

I've been having problems with the WMP and iTunes links from TodayFM.com for some time now. It's a real pity because Ray D'arcy and Ray Foley are great to listen to when at work. :(

Hasn't worked for me since, it's a shame I really miss the station.

Does anyone know of other Today FM links that maybe use different ports?

Don't know if it's a firewall problem though, I can access every other Radio station I've tried, but none of them are as good...

I know you left this a good while ago but it just helped me out so thanks!

I thought I'd resurrect this thread, as I just installed the "Chrome Radio Player" for the Chrome browser. It is small and neat player which saves you having to browse the individual sites to tune in.
Anyway just search for it in the Web store. Tuning in the stations are a pain in the a*s but I've attached the basic 4 (*.txt) to get anyone started. Plus I've uploaded them to the 'Radio Gallery'.
Hope someone gets use out of it!
