first ill tell ya before anyone else biites ya, there NOT pellet guns and its not liked by most to call them that, and "steal pellets" are for firearms not airsoft.,:)
and shooting at a pressurized container would be the intelegence equivalent of shaving with a chainsaw.,

wouldnt do that, heard they can damage an aeg, and most dont have the

    power to fire one anyway.

The newbie FAQ sticky, covering most questions about airsoft, is probably your best place to start as a first port-of-call. If you still haven't had your questions answered after that, fire away here (no pun intended)

please read the stickies, in particular the newbie thread

as pointed out, steel bbs (pellets are pointed, bbs are round) will not fire in an airsoft device, they do not have the power to do so.

didnt mean to sound tough about it but a lot of people think airguns, airsoft etc are one and the same but their not, as lemming said, stickies is the best place to start.,:)

call them AEGs or Pistols or whatever it is really.,lol
    AEG= automatic electric gun,
GBB= gas blowback etc, i think theres a list somewhere.,

3v vouchers are just as handy to use.

    3V

Go there and register. They'll send you a card that looks, for all the world, like a PPS card. Whenever you want to buy something online, you just take it to a postoffice, or most places that do phone credit, and credit the amount of money you want to spend onto it. It's usually best to add a bit more just in case to make up for exchange rates etc. Eg, if the total is 314, stick 330 on just to be clear. You won't lose the money. It'll stay there until you spend it.
Then you just use it like a normal visa card online.

You won't be saying that after they've shot you a few hundreds times on your first day of skirmishing.

I personally am a total b&stard for shooting people in the fingers, but you don't need to worry as I can't skirmish too often currently due to work/personal commitments. So you're fingers are safe....for now.

Firstly Joey, welcome to the wonderful world of Airsoft. Just a small bit of advise, I'm not that long in the Airsoft community myself and was pretty quick to learn that the term "gun" is not a particulary liked word around here. Try and use AEG, Pistol or GBB if you can. It'll help to keep some members of the public at ease.

Look forward to seeing you on the battle, errr I mean skirmish field.

    Hey Joey - Welcome,

I am new here myself - Your waiting for the reserves, you wanting to join the FCA or Naval Service Reserve. I had 6 year in myself, that were i picked up my experience on the rifle team and AUG.

I saw your selection there nice set, I have the JG G36C is a savage AEG, very robust. I have a DE M83 (M14 lookalike) from a shop (piece of crap really but for plinking at reduced size targets to improve my aim ability its 'ok')...

Ask around for what would you suit you as there is a lot of experience and the guys will know best...

I am waiting for the reserve defence force infantry then when i leave school ill be joining the permanent defence force, regiment 5 - urban infantry. Im very good with a pistol (have two already) like from 40 odd foot away i can hit dead centre every time, thats because its all ive done when im bored since i was a kid. im looking to invest in more "decent" AEG so i was hoping these guys would point me in the right direction for getting one.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

both the ones you picked are decent enough for a starter.,

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 179 ✭✭TheFlatulator

If your good then keep up the practice, I would even go as far as to say that if you can at all get a good Steyr AUG, as close to the real thing as possible. Seeing that its regular issue then you will have a good physical knowledge it will be part of you when you join so that when you do get your hands on a real one you will be able to handle it well.....

Just a pity that you won't get a chance to fire the FN FAL for real, or do the reserves still use them in infantry or have they moved over to the Steyr fully.

7.62 compared to 5.56 makes a big difference, with your pistol try reducing the size of the target at the same distance and if you can group the same as well as with the AEG when you get it you will make the rifle team like I did.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 182 ✭✭Joey1666

Yep fully aug now, no more fals. FN make brilliant guns though, I was planning on buying an xbox 360 but thats going to have to wait :) i need me some AEG's.

Hmm i see i was thinking of just getting a proper pistol to start off with and move onto bigger things later on.

I was planning on buying this but what other stuff will i need for it ? ie. Will i need a battery ?
