German legends DESASTER land in Cork on May 23rd to play one of only 2 Irish shows.

They haven't been here in several years and usually only do festival dates so we lucked out on this one.

Tickets will be fully available on the night in question and will be on sale over the counter in the venue from closer to the date.

This April sees the much awaited arrival of New Yorker's SUFFOCATION.

They play Dublin's Voodoo Lounge on the Saturday night (with
Nephridium and Putrefy) , and head to Cork to play 2 (that's TWO!!!) shows.

At 1pm An Cruiscin Lan will open it's doors to the youth of the nation as Suffocation take to the stage for an All Ages show. No alcohol obviously, and noone with drink taken will be allowed entry etc etc.

At 8pm that night it's the grown-up's turn. And the bar WILL be fully stocked.

Support in Cork will be from Abaddon Incarnate and Open Casket.

Tickets will be available on Tickets.ie in the coming days, priced €22 advance, and €25 on the night.

Quite! Indeed the Cork=Metal logo was something I'd forgotten about. I don't think we use that as much as we used to; the Dubs get cranky over it.

Well, always wanted to get OVerkill in...

DESASTER, as old school as they are, incorporrate plenty thrash elements.

Defect, who are main supports are totally thrash. Hoping to have MASTER back next February too. Just waiting on the tour agent to get back to me.

Anyway: DISMEMBER are in 10 days time, on Thursday 27th. It's been 2 years since they last played Cork so I expect everyone out for this one...

Well Dismember was a wild night altogether. Huge crowd, and people travelling from all over to get there.

Next up is New York's Finest: SUFFOCATION. Tickets are currently on sale with Tickets.ie and thru Plug'd Records, or any other Tickets.ie agent.

This is definitely not one to miss as it's likely to be their last show in Ireland for a while (US and Japan tours takes millenia).

OK so. SUFFOCATION is the next one up as I've said. That's Sunday April 20th, just 10 days away.

Tickets are readily available in Plug'd Records, and will be until Saturday evening (19th). Other than that they'll be on the door. They're €22 in Plug'd and will be €25 on the door. Do the maths people.

For the All Ages show I've been told that, again, there are still tickets left in Plug'd until the 19th, and that we will have some on the door that afternoon. €15 in Plug'd, €15 on the door.
