Hi, Does anybody know what the deal is with driving an English Car in England on my Irish Insurance?

I know I can drive my car in Ireland or England, and I can drive any car with the owners permission, But will my comprehensive Irish Insurance cover me to drive my English Girlfriends car when I visit her in the UK?

TBH, the only people that can answer this 100% correctly are your insurers. Give them a call and ask the question.

The "driving other cars" extension doesn't cover you to drive other cars abroad, only the car on the policy. At least that was the case for me when I was going out with a girl who lived in England. Check with your own insurance company to be sure, though.

    I seriously doubt it.

You might be better off asking her to get you put on her insurance.

It may be worth checking out short term car insurance if you only need to drive it the odd day here and there.
