Employee Transfers within the Publice Service -HSE

Just wondering, has anyone working for the HSE in the Admin section, has got or been offered a transfer, since the new National Transfer body was set up?

I myself, have applied for transfer on a few panels and am quite high up on the lists but it just seem to be taking ages for the panels to move and its driving me crazy, as they can give you no time limit on it and feel that you can't plan anything.


I am also curious, to know how does employee transfers work ,in the civil service. If you apply for a transfer to get back down the country, how long does it usually take?

I have, twice. I am temp staff though and have been there for 3 yrs. What region are you based in? I'm in the southern executive and from what my coworkers are telling me there is very little panel movement at all.

I'm in the Dublin Mid Leinster Region and trying for over three years to get back to the Midlands and have had no offers of transfer at all. It's getting very frustrating, as with been high up on the panels thought would have had it by now. Panels in the HSE work like snails pace.

I heard today in work even though the embargo has been lifted there is war going on with unions and HSE over the replacement of staff,

As any of the posts that were open last year and not filled to do with the ban, have been closed off and are no longer vananct. So anyone that went for interviews for promotion and are on panels, won't be offered anything.

Hi all, I know this is a very old thread, but it's still pertinent to my query - does anybody have any updated inside knowledge or insight into how the HSE are dealing with (admin) staff requests for transfer from one part of the country to another? Is it even an option at the moment, and if so, how long are transfer requests taking etc?
