Hi, my friend is trying to sell me his old panasonic tx32LX60 which he has used for "a year". I looked it up and it has been discontinued since 2007 september. The current line is the tx32LX70, and it seems to have come out 2007 april.

He offered to sell it to me for 400 euro.

Q1.Is this a fair deal? If not, how much should I offer him?
    Q2.And good investment? (see below)
How much difference will it make in my gaming. I have a widescreen 28 inch philips. So the new tv would be 4 inches bigger and HD. I usually play 4-way splitscreen with my friends.
Q3.Are "last gen" much different from the current ones? The 32LX70 seems to go for around 950 euro.

SD quality and TV watching I don't really look at.
I was going to get the samsung le32r87bd for around 650 mark if this doesn't work out. 250 euro difference is tempting...

    Thanks for your help

    panasonic tx32LX60

Thats the 2006 model , so its about a year and a half old , providing its in good shape it should last quite a while.

It got pretty good reviews at the time and to be honest the latest models dont have much more than this one has. As far as I remember it has 2 HDMI , component , and 2 scarts. The picture quality is excellent , same as most panasonics , and panasonics are generally way ahead of Samsungs in terms of picture quality.

What console are you planning on attaching ? Ive seen this model connected using HDMI , and the quality is excellent , so I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it.
As for the price , well LCD's have dropped in price a lot , I would imagine your friend paid well over a thousand for this when he bought it. 400 is probably not bad for a TV of that quality, its not that old.

Panasonic's current LCD line up has a good reputation. Can't speak specifically for this one..... but i'm fairly confident it's a decent TV.

I plan on attaching it to the original xbox360 (non HDMI i think) I don't know what to attach it with i think im gonna have to get a new cable vga/or something else. Not good with these things..

So 400 is fair price would you say? what about 350? or 450?

    Thanks!!

    P.S thanks to xanthor, too!

To connect the xbox 360 you would use the component connection. The TV has these inputs , so should be no problem at all.

As regards the price , it seems fair enough , the haggling is up to yourself though:D
