I'll be amazed if Skelton wins this fight.

I'll be amazed if Skelton wins this fight.

I'll be surprised if he lasts the distance , Chagaev is a very accurate puncher with decent power and Skelton although does possess a decent chin it's not rock solid . He's going to have to ship quite a lot too .

Had forgotten about this fight. From an entertainment POV, Skelton's style, for lack of a better word:D, should ensure plenty of punches are landed.

If Skelton gets beyond seven, he will be doing well imho.

Anyone else's Setanta not working ? , I'd rather not have to bother ringing them but if it doesn't work soon

I'm surprised Skelton has lasted this long. the class is begining to show, though

There is no doubt Chagaev is winning the fight clearly. this commentator on Setanta is blinkered to say the least.

    Fight over.
Fair play to Skelton for going the distance but Chagev threw the better puncher and was a clear winner imo.

I saw about 3 rounds in total(got onto Setanta but not quick enough for them to fix my signal in time) and it looked like Chagaev performed well below himself .

Too many German based fighters seem happy to coast out a decision win when they are vastly superior to their opponents , fairplay to Morph/The Bedford Bear/Sugar Ray Skelton for what appeared to be a spirited effort against a technically much better foe .

If Setanta isn't working for Jones v Trinidad tonight I'm canceling , not that I'm too excited about that fight but it looks like a very good undercard .

    Mollo v Golota-should be a cracker
    Karmazin v Bunema
    Alexander v Corley
    Collazo v journeyman
    Sellers v Nwodo

okay quite a few has beens there(especially considering the main event) but plenty of excitement . I'd love to see Sellers v Nwodo but I doubt it's on tv .

Exaclty - Setanta were trying to keep it interesting I had it six rounds to Chagaev with the addition point taken off that had Chag winning by 7 points!

Skelton has a decent chin, Chagaev is a lazy fooker and only fights to the level of the opponemt.

I had £100 on Chagaev to win at 1/6 at BetInternet.com and £10 on a KO win at 11/10 at Laddies - wasnt worth the hassle

Surprised at the amount of people who expected Skelton to be stopped, he has an excellent chin and magnificent heart !

I stuck a ton on a Chagaev pts win to win 140 and thought it was as solid a bet as you could have in a boxing match (where anything can happen).

The commentator had it closer than reality, but Skelton always made him work. Fair play to him, it's some achievment considering where he started.

Well done Skelton, but to be honest it was a dismal fight. Was impressed by Chagaev agaonst Maskaev but tonight he was poor. Really the heavyweight division is such a mess at the moment.

I think it was due to me(and probably most others that picked stoppage) forgetting that Chagaev as a German based fighter would have a German based mentality.........they lack killer instinct and are more than prepared to do just enough . See Sven Ottke for a perfect example of doing just enough(although the judges certainly helped in defining what exactly enough was)

If Chagaev fought as he is capable of he would of landed time and time and time again and he does possess a decent punch . He was lazy however and decided to coast to an easy decision . For me this shows he lacks ambition and will never make anything of himself more than what he is now(just another trinket belt holder) .

buck65 I think you mean Valuev not Maskaev , Maskaev has not fought Chagaev .

That fight had to be one of the worst fights I have ever seen.Matt Skelton is one of the most unstylish fighters I have ever seen I don't know how he even got a title shot.

agree with that -I would have turned it over if I hadnt had money on it. Not just Skelton I wont be in a hurry to watch Chagaev again either
