Below are the settings I found on boards.ie for 3 Ireland

    I bought a Toshiba G500 Portege and I'm a 3 customer. I can't get these settings to work.

Should the info go in under GPRS Connection?

The Toshiba doesn't look for a 'Data Bearer' or 'Prompt Password'etc.

I'd be grateful for any help.

those are the settings as they'd be entered on a nokia. what options is it looking for?

    1. Connects to: Internet or MMS Network or Secure WAP Network or WAP Network or Work

    2. Access Point

    3. User Name

    4. Password

    5. Primary DNS

    6. Secondary DNS

    7. IP Address

it seems to insist on numbers for the primary and second dns

    1. Connects to: Internet or MMS Network or Secure WAP Network or WAP Network or Work

    try internet and WAP network

    2. Access Point: 3ireland.ie

    3. User Name: none

    4. Password: none

    5. Primary DNS: none (automatic)

    6. Secondary DNS: none (automatic)

    7. IP Address: none (automatic)

but there should be more options, for example you should have a home page optjon. that might be set in the browser itself as opposed to the configuration settings

Thanks for the help. No joy so far. the settings don't seem to match up somehow.

    I'll keep digging.

    Thanks

I discovered that Toshiba provide settings for the G500 for all major operators at the address below. Click on the link for Technical Support and there's a link for Operator Settings

    http://www.toshiba-europe.com/mobile/

However, the settings for 3 Ireland still aren't working. They don't sell any Windows Mobile device. Perhaps that makes it easy for them to exclude it. The telephony functions work, just not the internet or Planet 3.

I have a G500 for a while, from memory didn't have any problems setting it up for Vodafone? Are both internet and mms not working or just one?

It does work on mms... but only if i use the old settings. I think that is my sim card.
Internet wise not even old gprs settings work.

It interestingly had to go to 2g send it though.

I got a page from the 3 site. it was the page that tells you if you access the internet you will be charged 49c per min blah blah blah.

I'll keep trying, see if I can get anywhere.

It's a pity the G500 portege isn't more popular! I really like it!
