Can someone please explain the symbolism of the horse in the movie. I just didn't get the last scene - even though all reviews I read complain about the over use of symbolism!?!

I suppose that he let the horse free, which was confined in a small area and perhaps this reflected
his own 'freedom' from his restricted life in the small village which occurred when he took his own life.
That's what I got out of it but I could be completely wrong though.

Saw Garage yesterday. What a brilliant film. Pat Short gave a great performance. There are alot of people who consider this a boring movie. I dont think they get the point. This film is brilliantly simple. I would consider this one of the best Irish films.

I think the simplistic approach was very benificial to the movies success.

Keep it simple and the audience will watch the movie rather than just looking at it. One of the best Irish movies this decade. After 15 years of trying the Film Board are finally getting it right.

I think the film was vastly overrated, maybe it was the fact I knew what was going to happen, but I thought from a production point of view it was shoddy, most of the acting was extremely wooden (same as Adam & Paul).

I've seen it three times now and I just can't bring myself to like it.
