Ireland’s most senior citizen has died.

Bridget Conroy passed away on Wednesday at the age of 107. Miss Conroy, who was from Connemara, Co Galway, was born in 1900.

She was due to celebrate her 108th birthday in April.

She was born in April 1900.
I'd be impressed if she was born in the 1800's, she wasn't so I'm not impressed.

First person to outlive her age post back in this thread.

She clipped a kerb when rollerblading and hit her head.

When I volenteered in anursing home, there was a woman who was 104. That was 2 years ago, so assuming she's still alive, she's only got one more year to go.

Assuming she's still alive she's probably the oldest person in Ireland now I'd imagine...

I meant one year to go, until she passes the previous champion.

About 10 years ago, a 103-year-old woman fractured her hip and had her surgery done at the hospital where I work. A week later, she was sent home. Never saw her again after that, but heard she was doing fine.
Doubt if she's still alive though.
I wonder what percentage of our generation will live to see that age.
