asked to look at an IQON laptop that the screen is not working,

no joy when i plugged in an external screen,

noticed that the laptop is not resonding to caps lock too

decided that it must be a cpu or ram problem as the mb was failing to POST, so ordered new ones off ebay.

decided to make an image of the hard drive, and its full of bad sectors, also noticed the the battery has no capicity, it powers down when i unplug the charger, even after 12hrs charging

is it worth any more of my time?

How much did you pay for the Ram,cpu, motherboard from ebay?!?
Defintately NOT worth it, dynamite Vostro 1000 to be had for roughly €500 so I would never waste that much money on repairing...an...Iqon..of all things!

Sorry just re-read your post....the battery is dead, and the hard drive is becomming faulty...so in essence, nothing works, bar the screen. Bin it.

    Hi Mukki,
I too was asked to look at an IQON.
    Its a Model 8050.
    I have a bad Screen.
Do you think the screen is good in the model you had.
Would you be interested in selling it and if so how much.
    Thanks Koura.

    Hi Mukki,

Just wondering if you investigated a new battery for your laptop further - I have an IQON laptop (from Tesco, never again!) and have had no joy getting a new battery for it. It dies within minutes of unplugging.

    Many thanks.

sorry dude, the battery i was talking about is the size of a watch battery and used for remembering settings and time

dont bother fixing up your old iqon, just buy a new dell laptop, you can get them from under 350 nowadays

You have 2 other threads at this point (and PMs to me) asking how to crack into this laptop. Im beginning to think you stole the ****ing thing.

If you want it unlocked and you bought it from Tesco, take it back to tesco with your proof of purchase and let them sort it out. By Factory Default they have no such Passwords on them. So its either something you, Tesco, [Or the Original Owner?] Set up.

This thread is OLD. And you have other threads dotted all over the shop. Closed.
