After watching Alien last night and the brilliant chest bursting scene where poor old John Hurt meets his maker....it got me thinking, this must be one of if not the most iconic screen deaths.

Anyone think of any others? Or anything to top the Alien scene?

The ending of Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid.

The mention of The Wild Bunch ending brought it to mind.

About 75% of movies that Sean Bean has ever been in

He went through a stage where every character he played died and each was bloodier than the rest

It was the only reason to watch most of his movies

Rhodes in Day of the Dead comes to mind pretty much instantly. After seeing someone getting torn apart by zombies and their intestines pulled out and eaten, it's not something you'll forget.

Also Paul Allen getting the axe (heh) in american Psycho.

Also Sean connery in The Untouchables and Michael Ironside in Scanners are pretty memorable.

Again, this one isn't going to end up anywhere, except pointlessly listing off of deaths. Charter.
