personally i think is the greatest show i've ever seen on tele, the only thing that comes near is the Sapranos (the 1st 4 seasons at least). it really is like a emotional roller coaster, ep.3 series 5 for example, i was in a ball of laughter at

mcmulty antics in the parking lot with the girl from the bar

and only a couple on scenes later i sat thru one of the most uncomfortable scenes i've ever seen in tele as

Chris and Snoop try to get some info on Omar.

theres so many great scenes and way to many great characters to go into detail, but i've loaned series one of this show to countless people now and when they return it they all say the same thing "so have u got season 2 as well" to me its incredible how people seem to get hooked almost instantly. i'm kinda happy that its coming to an end because i'd hate to see it being dragged out like the Sapranos but i will certainly miss it when its gone. can't wait to see what the creators do next!

As for the question,I think it is the best tv show ever made,from what I have seen so far anyway (and that is a lot!). It is also better entertainment and art than you find in the majority of movies as well.

Edit (in answer to op) I'd rate it very highly, one of the best shows i've seen. The same league as Band of Brothers.

" i watched series four last year and was blown away by it. i've have just finnished the first series. NOW how quickly do i watch series 2? do i stagger it out or do i watch the whole series this w/end? tough decission ye know."

its actually something the actor who plays clay davis that does it alot. i've seen him do it in at least 2 movies before. he does it in The 25th Hour when he finds the drugs in Ed Nortons couch and i can't remember the other one.

in the wire the only other character i remember say the word **** like that is Norman Wilson who done it to take the piss out of Clay, can't ever remember the Bunk doing it!

Just watching the bloomin' thing like, with your eyes like.

Or if you prefer, watch season 3 now and then season 2 and then finish up by watching the last episode of season 5 and working your way back to episode 1 of season 5. That should just about work out grand for ya.
