If the NFL want to promote the game in Europe why do they make it so hard to get jerseys.

The NFLUK/Reebok UK don't sell them or any other websites like that i.e. Kitbag etc.

Sky is great for there 5 games on a Sunday and Monday night and other programs but if people want to get their teams jersey is hard if nobody sells them.

As some people are reluctant to buy from ebay.

Are the NFL missing out on the possibility of millions of euros?

Its not the NFL who don't sell in Europe. Its up to Reebok and Suppliers and then Retailers to take in the stock. As a person who tried to startup a jersey business I have put it on hold until next year as I will be working in US this year but Reebok and Nike and Addidas make it hard for european suppliers to make money as all the products have to be imported hence duty paid on them.

Then there is also supply and demand. Alot of suppliers and retailers are not aware to the fact there would be interest in NFL and college football jerseys. Until someone convinces them there is a market unfortunately we are stuck ordering them from abroad.

And Reebok do sell them in the UK as do Kitbag(sometimes).

You are lucky to get one jersey on Reebok website for some teams.

Should it not be NFL getting onto Reebok/Adidas to manufacture the jersey over in Europe or China like they do with soccer jerseys.

Yes they possibly could push it more but away from the NFL or Reeboks website its finding Suppliers and Retailers who are willing to stock these items. No retailer wants to get stuck with jerseys he cant sell. Supply and demand is the biggest factor. Alright they could offload Brady Manning TO LT etc etc jerseys as they are in the know but anything else would be a gamble on a market they dont know.

When I was at the Giants/Fins game in Wembley, they seriously dropped the ball when it came to merchandise. Talking with some other people who went, I found I wasn't the only one willing to spend a few sheckles on some merchandise who walked away with my money still in my pocket.

The queues for the merchandise stands were extremely long before and during the game. The only stands that were open after the game were outside and they seemed very depleted and didn't have the shirt I was looking for. The Giants website had an International Series t-shirt for the game (there was also a Dolphins equivalent available on the Dolphins site). I didn't see any of these shirts on sale at Wembley and I would've gladly bought the Giants version. After the game, I tried to get my rents to buy me one on the Giants site but they only had mediums left.

Also, since this was the first regular season game outside North America and all that, there were supporters from just about every NFL team so they could've made a loads of money if they stocked merchandise for all 32 teams but all they had were mainly Dolphins stuff and some Giants stuff.

would pretty much agree with all said. There was a shop near Grafton St in Powerscourt centre place that had all American sports gear. Seemed to be doing alright, but closed up a few years back.

You'd think tho that they would be able to have an online merchant who could sell all NFL gear. The NFl site doesnt do much to help foreign purchasers, and extortionate postage rates would really put you off. I went about buying a womens jersey for the missus on the Pats website, $90 shipping to Ireland! So got it sent to my mate over in America for $8 and he posted it onto me for another few quid. There should definately be a European hub, people wouldnt mind delays in postage as long as they were getting a good deal.

Yeah,i get some jerseys on ebay but with ebay you never know when a shop/seller is gonna have what.
I saw a Terry Bradshaw jersey on it lastnight going for 17 euro buy it now...pretty good deal.

Amazon.com - the US amazon - sells Reebok NFL jerseys. Not sure what the cost is to ship overseas but with the favourable exchange rate for the euro/dollar right now it could be way to get the stuff?

Type in "nfl Jersey" as I did and you can bring up the NFL merchandise.

Thats some rip off. €66 for a jersey that costs €51 on the NFL site. Whats the postage like from the NASN site? Glad I know people in America who I can get to buy them and post them to me without being ripped off.

Yep. However these type of places know that your stuck if you dont have friends in the US and if you buy from a US supplier you are liable to import duty and VAT and VAT on the shipping. It all adds up to a sum not far off the €66. Its a sellers market when the jerseys aren't readily availible in sports shops.

true, bad situation to have a whole continent in though where there is obviously a demand for NFL products. 500,000 applicants for s sh!te game in London more than said enough. I didnt apply as I really wouldnt be bothered seeing the Giants and Dolphins, and I know many NFL fans who were the same. Surely tho they could have an online site with dispatches from Europe?

There's a lad on ebay who sells some jerseys from the UK.
Not sure how legal or illegal it is though?

I got a genuine Tom Brady and Randy Moss Jersey on Ebay for around 60 euro each from the UK..

They cost around 110 euro with delivery from the US at the time....

And the ones I got are much better quality than the cheaper ones sold on NFL.com Mine have stitched numbers, logo, name etc

There are some very genuine looking ones that are fake, tallaghtoutlaws is usually able to tell straight away if he sees an ebay pic but I have to say I wouldn't notice usually.

True that, I was gutted with the complete lack of merchandise there. I was hoping to pick up a random jersey or something, but all they had was giants and dolphins, nothing else... Very disappointed... All i bought in wembley that day was food, drink and a programme..

Meh, while it would be class to be able to buy more NFL & college gear here, there truly isn't a big enough demand for it to happen...

I'm just new to the game and still haven't really settled on a team to support. My mate who got me into it supports Miami, but given the season they've just had, I have to wonder if I'll follow his lead. Nonetheless I was interested in seeing if anywhere in Ireland sold jerseys. I was quite suprised to find that Lifestyle Sports sold some.

Unfortunately they only have the Giants, the 49er's and the Jets. Not exactly the biggest names in the game. I can understand with the Giants making the SuperBowl that they might be more attractive. Anyway, Lifestyle are selling them for €60 which seems reasonable I guess. If they expand the range I might just pick up one. The link below is to their online shop if anyone is interested.

Vilma jerseys in Lifestyle Sports? Things have changed.

I bought a couple of Jets jerseys from NFL.com a couple of years ago, the postage wasn't bad, and they arrived just over a week later.

Buying from the teams is the real rip-off. I've just bought a customised Jets jersey (Titans throwback, with Don Maynard on it), and I had to buy it from the Jets shop, as the NFL won't allow retired players names on their jerseys. They wanted $104 shipping. So I simply got them to send it to my brother in the Bronx, and he's posting it to me. Much, much cheaper..

    Hi guys and girls,

I am new to this so please stick with me .

After some long deliberation I am in the process of opening a proper NFL shop here in Dublin.

The plan is to be open before x-mas 2008.

There has been strong liason wth the IAFL ( Irish American Football League) and REEBOK INT. who, as you might know, are the official shirt suppliers to the NFL.

This is not a gimmick post and I have looked at various locations for the shop.

All merchandise (shirts, balls, caps etc) will be original and no copies or cheap imports from China.

Prices will be around 60/70 Euro per shirt when bought in the shop.

I am aware that you can buy jerseys online from the USA but do not forget you will have to pay VAT and import duty on everything bought outside EUROPE.

In any case I am very interested to know how many of you are looking to buy jerseys or other items and how serious you guys are.

You can mail me personally with any comments on NFL@coinandsurf.com

Again remember investing in any shop will cost a lot of money and is only worth it if real FANS (that means YOU) will actually be buying jerseys, caps etc.

Anyway let me know sooner rather then later.

Names of Team jerseys you would like to see in the shop ad any other items.
There will be sufficient stock in te shop and any other items not in stock won't take long to order (1 week)

If you fans really want to see a dedicated NFL shop in Dublin (Ireland) then it is also up to you guys and girls to support this type of venture
This is the only way for me to make it worth investing in this as one poster said before.
I do not want to order and then end up with several hundred jerseys that no one wants.

In case of lack of demand any balls I order I can paint and sell as rugby balls (lol)
