    Hey there,

That looks great! Like the opening pic. Very east to navigate also...

    Good luck with it. :)

PS - I'm dyslexic also... I have to get my girlfriend to spell check everything (well, her and the spell checker).

Coincidence, someone on IRC showed me Cork Budokai site just yesterday and it was the old website. The site looks good, nice clean layout, easy to navigate, lovely header and colours, informative, etc.

Well I'm just back from spectating at my first Kendo competition in Dublin, and WOW!..

Very impressive, but more of that later.

First impression's weren't the best!. On arriving at the competition hall I was struck by the amount of fighters outside smoking!, anal I know but it looks terrible and hardly a good impression for the first timer.

Probably they're own business, but it was a bad first impression.

But to the business end of things.

It took me a few minutes to figure out the scoring and when I got to grips with things I was highly impressed with Kendo.

Highlight for me was the last two fights, and particularly the last one where a tiny girl (from England I think) fought a huge big lad from the Italian team, the display of style, technique and aggression she showed had the crowd on its feet applauding. But despite her spirit her fight was a draw.

    Kendo, I'm impressed. Very impressed....

(But discourage the smokers from congragating at the enterance to the venue, it looks bad and I hated walking through it whenever I'd to go outside.).

    Hey Mairt,

I'm very embarrassed and sorry about this (espcially as i was one of them) its the simple things at these events that go overlooked in the planning. Fact of the matter was there was no area for smoking that had shelter from the rain except the porch at the entrance.

I'll make get on to the comittee and make sure for future events there is dedicated smoking area's away from the main entrance.

Your dead right, thanks for posting that.

Sorry I didn't mean the negetive should out weight the positive.

I was very impressed with Kendo, in fact of all the Martial Arts of seen over the year's this probably ranks as the best I've seen. It was damn impressive, brilliant stuff.

You were probably one of the lads with the Cork accents!. I was trying to figure how I'd ask if one of you were the poster on boards.ie!.

I was there with my daughter, I was wearing a Straight Blast Gym hoodie (blue).

When we went into the hall first my daugher was a little scared (she's only 12 and a big baby 12 at that!!) but by the end she was begging me to start training in Kendo and she'd do it too!.

Once again, great stuff and sorry that my negative comments over shadowed what I wanted to say about my first visit to a Kendo comp.
