first dance songs

Im getting married in 7 mths time & we're really starting to get the ball moving now with all the arrangements but we've seemed to have hit a brick wall when it comes to the first dance so has anybody got any tips/ideas to help us along the way...... Oh & tanx a mill in advance if u do

id recommend choosing something that means something to you guys. what djspider recommended are 'old faithfuls' which get overused to be honest. theyre so cheesy!
what about something by sigur ros, iron and wine (specifically a cover they did of 'such great heights'),coldplay, snowpatrol, something from a musical (come what may from moulin rouge for example), queen (you're my best friend..), something classical?, jack johnson-better together,the cure-lovesong,smashing pumpkins-luna,at last-etta james..yeah i could go on. thats just after having a squizz through my itunes.
listen to loads of music.. (youtube is great for this) so you can at least rule stuff out!

Head to the you tube link posted by DJ Spider - what a laugh, and they will be talking about it forever.................I can't remember our first dance song, but I would love to have the memory of the laugh that couple have :D:D

Tis an odd choice but at least it'd be different and means a lot to us! We'll have to see if he gets his way! I'd love a song from the thirties called love is the sweetest thing. That's be unusual too.

Maybe go through your music collection and find songs that remind you of each other. I know when it comes to my first dance I'll want it to be a bit different and not something cliched.

I for one have the moves :cool: but the last time we were out together dancing, I recall being face up on the floor with him on top of me like a bag of spuds.. Big tree fell hard and brought Abi down with him.

For our wedding myself and my OH are thinking of using the Danish traditional wedding waltz. My dad's side of the family are Danish and it would be a nice way to include them in the day.

The idea is that as the waltz goes on, the guests step closer and closer to the couple until they can't move and the groom has to kiss the bride.

Anyway, my point is maybe look into other traditions you could do for the first dance.
