Looking For Some Experience

Recently I've started posting a little more here on the boards, before I just liked to read what was going on and admire everyone's photos. :)

Now after getting a camera for myself, I'm just dying to get out and take some photos. I've been reading up, seeing how changing settings affects photos. Now I think I more or less understand the basics. Unfortunately, I've not had a huge amount of time to actually get out and get snapping. I've been busy in school with studying and what not for the Leaving Cert. Its so much fun.

Honestly, I was wondering if any of you here are based in or around the Bray area and fancied a photo afternoon or something some weekend day??
Don't have any friends really interested in the photography scene and would love to get some advice from you guys here and learn some techniques to taking photos.
I've always had an interest in photography but never got around to taking it further.

So if any of you would be interested, or have any advice for a beginner like myself, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hope to talk to you all on these boards some more. :)

There's a boards meet coming up at the end of Feb you should come to...

Your are more than welcome to the meet as mentioned above. If you don't drive get a train to Balbriggan and I can collect you on the day.

Yup, come along to the next meet and you'll pick up loads of info. We're all rather nice, too.

Not sure about all ... there are some Nikon and Olympus users. :D

Boards meets are just brilliant for meeting people, and picking up great tips on photography. Well worth a day.

I take exception to your sweeping all-encompassing statement. I'm not rather nice, I'm perhaps the nicest person you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. :D

Ok, Mods ... we have a problem ... someone strange is using rymus's account. Either that, or the aliens have abducted him again.

just what exactly are you trying to suggest? Why I'm as nice as.... err... an unexpected towel snapping? A cold shower on a fresh winters morning? Something along those lines

    Oh, the memories....

Eh, there will be no towel snapping. Unless specifically requested.

Well that sounds like a plan indeed. :)

I'll see if I can make the next meet. I've been driving a little while but its my Dad's car and I neither know my way to Balbriggan nor would my Dad let me drive up there.
Easiest thing is probably to get the train down.

Thanks for the warm welcome people and yes, everyone is rather nice here.

This towel snapping won't be some sort of initiation now will it. :D

EDIT: Just remembered that I might be doing my mocks around that time but I will find the time to go, somehow.

I would love that, didn't know there was a camera club in Bray. Do they have a website or anything like that?? Are you a member yourself??

I have football training on Tuesday evenings but with the weather as of late means I might be able to pop down one of the evenings.

Thanks a lot for that info dude. :)
