    www.hoganstand.com

I find this great. It may be slow at times putting up results, but there are good forums on the site.

Lads Hoganstand.com is reasonably enough, gaa.ie has improved alot in recent years, but the best gaa forum for news and discussion is <snip>

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,676 ✭✭✭✭smashey

    Try this one. :D

I know Hoganstand, but to be honest they just rehash everything in the papers and they never have the match reports until the next day. I can think of RTE.ie, GAA.ie and breakingnews.ie as the other sources of GAA news (not forums). There are surely other sites that I haven't found with GAA on them!

Anyone obsessed with Mayo football like myself can take a look at the following

    http://z13.invisionfree.com/MayoFans/index.php?
    http://mayogaablog.com/

And for all the local news

    http://www.westernpeople.ie/

Kevmy, as a Mayo man you will enjoy An Spailpin Fanachs blog. Regular postings on all things Mayo GAA related although none so far this year i note. He is a fantastic writer and is generally very much on the button

Have to agree with someone elses post though re www.gaaboard.com/board ..... the best discussion page by far

For Roscommon Stolensheep.tk is an excellent forum for local results. Every county will have at least one decent one. eg: Kerrygaa.proboards14.com

I suppose we should keep our local couny ones for locals - if people want to log on to spy its ok but I reckon smart comments by an opponent after a defeat for example is not on.

I remember their was a Dub on the MayoFans website before the semi final a couple of years ago. Typical Dub, very cocksure of victory against the mucksavages. He went very quite for a couple of weeks after the semi though:D

    'Quite' what?

I have been using www.setantasports.com over the last few weeks and I have been finding it good so far, but they dont cover as many stories as Hoganstand. They seem to be fairly sharp though. Good for match reports too.

I dunno - what do you think?

    Quite sad
    Quite pissed off
    Quite devestated
    Quite gutted
Maybe even quite "quiet" - which is a rare state for a Dub!;);)

Aye the GAA board is good and hoganstand is decent as well, although it is quite annoying that they just copy and paste from the papers.

Anyone know of a GAA site that shows stats etc for players, ie number of games they've played, scores etc?

Have to agree with Discopants. Hoganstand is bascially a magazine that repeat everything we already know. The only good thing about it is features that they run on small club etc. RTE and GAA and your local county board are the best sites. Also for us girlies out there the ladiesgaelic.ie is good. Not sure about Camogie site but sure that is good too...Oh forgot about Aertel - great for getting club results. Also while on the topic of new season- our club we just bought new gear. Nothing major just some shorts, socks and a traning jacket. It was v cheap and quite nice. It was from Eoin Listons company. It was only E50 (no doubt it was prob cheaper but our miser trainer prob toped it up for himself....) Does anyone else know about his company. I checked their site but it was poor being honest - actually pretty crap. Might give a ring for a brochure - see how much it really cost. I wonder will those handsome devils Star and Gooch be modelling

I'm assuming they've improved since they changed the format of the forums so, because I recall the Hoganstand message boards as being the most troll-ridden, petty, childish forums in the country. I had to stop reading them as they just put me on life-tilt too much.
