Travelling from Port Douglas/Cairns to Brisbane?

    As the title suggest we will be travelling by car from Port Douglas/Cairns to Brisbane. Just looking for some suggestions of where to stop and what to see?

    Depends what you're into really and what you want to do. I did nearly all of this:

    Mission beach, nice beach, good place to skydive,
    Tully, white water rafting on the Tully river(you can package this with the skydive to get discount),
    Magnetic Island, 30min boat ride from Townsville, rent small electric cars to explore the island, they also run a full moon party in base backpackers resort every month.
    Airlie beach, great nightlife here, also use this place as your base to go sailing in the whitsundays(a must) usually on a 3day/2night package.
    Town of 1770/Agnes Waters, 2 small very chilled out, uncommercialised towns close together by the beach, very cheap to do stuff here like riding choppers and a 4seater plane tour of the area.
    Fraser Island(another must), do a self guided tour of this sand island, usually another 3day/2night package, good driving adventure and get to see wild dingos. Depart from Hervey Bay or Rainbow beach.
    Noosa, more nice beaches, Australia zoo nearby, kayaking supposed to good here.
