Xbox - Live IP conflict

I'm having problems with xbox live at the moment.

I had it connected via ethernet directly to a modem and it was working fine.

I plugged out the modem just to move it and now I'm getting an IP conflict in network settings when i try to connect!
I didn't change any settings and when I plug the ethernet cable into my laptop it works fine with an automatic ip address.

I've tried manual IP addresses but this shouldn't be necessary as it worked before without doing this!

Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

    Thanks.

Oh dude, i've been getting the same problem except that ever since I exchanged to a new xbox console I've been getting the ip error. Im using all the same settings from the previous console and Im with eircom using the wireless network adaptor. The thing is that it works grand when I connect it with an ethernet cable tho.

Anyone know what to do, cuz its really setting me off and I have no idea what to do:(

Someone please help me, miss playing rainbow six vegas online. Any help would be great appreciated.

Log on to the router and check which IP addresses have been assigned and remove the 360 from the list if it is in the list of assigned IP's.

It sounds like something is cached that shouldn't be. Have you tried restarting the other devices on your network?

Have you guys tried flushing the cache on the 360?
You'll have to Google it as I don't know how to do it.

Just to make sure you guys know that an IP conflict usually occurs when two computers are using or trying to use the same IP.

Sometimes people get this error in work and repairing the connection usually works on a computer.
