Clearly this man was a legend, whether you liked football or not.

I'm no MUFC fan but he was pure class.
He just seemed to keep getting better and better when he returned after the ban.
Especially that goal he scored against Liverpool in the FA cup final, 1996 I think.
The ball just seemed to cut through the entire Liverpool team.

I was going to say no... but if he really did say his best moment was when he kicked that guy then he gets a yes from me.

A decent strike, but not a great goal, he scored far better. More a case of crap defending.

I love you BossArky. Eric Cantona is a God amongst men. The best footballer to ever play in England. I'm still gutted by his departure.

I'd agree, the Liverpool defence was brutal.
I still wouldn't underestimate the goal though, the way he reacted so quickly to a rebound and stepped back to catch the ball on the volley.

Definate legend, just on the basis that he showed us that footballers can also learn Kung-Fu :D

I'll never forgive him for leaving Leeds, especially to join them, and for a pittance too.

    Bitter? Moi? :D

    Classic.

Yes, and also easy to understand. It makes perfect sense and I find it really annoying when journalists and other people who just like to slag off Cantona make out that he was talking rubbish.

The seagulls were the journalists, and the sardines were the juicy titbits they were after.

They just wanted to try and make Eric look stupid - but maybe they were the stupid ones?

Actually think he was quite over-rated, capable of brilliance. but nowhere near the best ever foreigner in the PL.

and not a legend, when he jumped into the crowd, didnt he hit a woman as well?

Cantona is a legend - he tolerates no sh1t, he's supremely talented and read Keane and Ferguson's autobiographies if you're in doubt as to his impact on Man United.

The fact he retired at the top shows how brave the guy was.

And he called Bobby Gould, among others, a bag of sh1t.

Anyone who does that is a legend by me.

    OOH AHH CANTONA

    Liverpool fan here.

    Legend for me.

That, means by default, that Razor Ruddock is a bigger legend :D

May be not the best player ever, but he is full of talent and skills and there is certainly an Aura about him.

Deffo one of the best, if not the best player the premier league has ever seen. He paved the way for many other foreign players in what was, prior to his arrival, a league dominated by "home nation" (hate that phrase) players

    Also the kung-fu kick ftw!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Chop suey on fat Palace fan in one-size-too-small brown leather jacket = legend.
Never being able to do anything of note against top clubs in the Champions League and the fact that all his team-mates + Teddy Sheringham went on to win in '99 after amazing football in the Nou Camp, Del Allpi and Old Trafford = Mere Mortal.
